Here are the pics of my first attempt enjoy

I haven't done anything this scale a bit of war hammer back in school but nothing like this

There are a few basic mistakes but only noticed them once I was to far down the process to then start again. Also had minor collapse at the fibre glassing stage so next time will try a few other bits but hey we live learn and read more of this site although without this site in the first place would have even attempted it so thank you.

Pepakura model- wish I had reenforced a bit more but biggest issue was not having a reference picture to hand whilst building it

That's awesome, it looks great:D...That's the Halo 4 helmet right?
I'm pretty sure that's the MK VII.
Nice helmet though, it's pretty awesome.

really great job! honestly I wasn't too impressed with the pep but seeing the end result really turned me round on that. Nice work mate.

I thought that to at the time and I almost didn't upload the file it really was bad. Although it is safe to say that the bondo stage is the most important as building up and taking away and building up from the inside is always a possibility. And in fact as a bit of advice from someone with hardly any experience I think in future areas with lots of detail I will not make the pepakura I will take the lowest point and put a flat bit of card and wait and build it up with bondo ie the rear of the helmet

Solid bondo skills! The pep work looked a bit rough but you managed to create some very clean and even lines and shapes. Did you use any special technique during the bondo stage to get such even lines? I will be starting the bondo stage of my helmet soon and I need all the advice I can get.

No just layer it on in small areas. for instance if you can work on one cheek gaurd and also on the mirror side apply then revist each side until bondo starts to dry. i then sand it down ot level on each side compare and maybe then do another layer but thinner layer this time

i used the dremmel for rough flattening and then just an normal smooth file and worked down to sand paper then used the dremmel again to tidy up the edges.

once you start working with the bondo you will see it quite easy. very easy to get the straight lines

awesome job for your first piece. its hard to believe that this is your first helmet but I am impressed. keep up the good work buddy!

honestly first build but am an artist but use metal and pencil for my art not all this but i suppose artistic eye
