Materials advice

Hi
Im new so if im in the wrong place i apologise.
I really want to create my own armour but need some advice first. I have a six foot statue of the chief (picture attached) and im roughly the same height and build.
I want to take molds of the armour from this statue but need to know what materials are best so I dont ruin the statue ie take the paint off.

Would be appreciated if someone can help

Nifty looking statue. Where did you get it ?

As for how to make molds of the parts, Im not sure on that yet. Im still doing a bit of research. Im sure Adam, Sean, or Link will be around shortly to help ya out. There are some decent stickies on the said question also.
