mc helmet cost

if i were to make a mc helmet out of fiberglass/bondo, about how much would it cost me?

also, what would be cheaper to make, MJOLNIR helmet or SPI helmet?

cost you around $300 in materials, and maybe 3 months of work.

SPI armor would be harder, but more open to mistakes, as no one has made any, no one would be able to tell.

$300? holy crap! i knew it wasnt cheap, but thats about $250 past what i was expecting ! how much would it cost for JUST the fiberglass/bondo (no visor, leds, fans, etc), or was that what you were talking about?

$25 for a gallon of bondo. $15 for the fiberglass resin.


Visor is $35 more or less.

$300 is a pretty conservative estimate. You have to consider that if you're looking to make it from scratch from fiberglass/bondo that you'll need to make a mold or make a pattern. You can't freeform fiberglass like clay or something.

So in terms of materials theres alot involved to make one for yourself from scratch.
