Meowdy Folks!! NEW to Halo

So I’ve known about Halo for YEARS.

I think it might actually be the first video game I attempted to play, but I got chased off fast. I was never allowed to play video games growing up, so my hand-eye coordination isn't great. Needless to say, it did not go well, and I was made fun of mercilessly by my "friends." Despite not touching the video games, I still enjoyed watching Red vs. Blue and bits of Arby 'n' the Chief; in fact, before we started dating, my husband and I bonded over episodes of Red vs. Blue. I didn't attempt to touch video games until over a decade later when my husband and I had begun dating. I still wasn't thrilled about sucking, but I loved watching him play. I remember when Halo 4 came out and watching him play through that and thoroughly enjoying the gameplay, cinematics and lore dumps along the way.

I think I'm finally ready to try to get back on the horse so to speak when it comes to facing the challenges I have when it comes to playing video games. We're working to get a system set up my computer as I type this so I can hopefully try my hand at playing some of the games on my pc through Steam.

I hope at the very least to eventually be able to build a custom Spartan set of armor, but if I ever have the funds, I would REALLY love to try for an Elite costume at some point. That's big time future dreams though.

Anyways, off to explore more and see what resources I can find and absorb what knowledge I can!

Welcome to the halo family. if you need any help on anything please reach out and we will help as much as we can, with all the tutorials on here and all the season vets we will not leave a spartan behind.

Appreciate it! I need to take some time at some point to look through what files my husband has already, but for now I’m dipping my toes in the water with Halo Reach on Easy. I have the hand-eye coordination of an advanced toddler so it’s…interesting to say the least, haha. Definitely stream worthy if there is a niche out there for watching horrible gaming.
I’ve enjoyed the custom games on Infinite some too, even if I did lose an 9v1 game against my husband, rofl.

It doesn't matter how good you are at video games. As long as you're having a blast, that's all that matters! :) And the most important thing to remember about building a custom suit is to take your time. I tried to rush my suit and everything that could go wrong, did in fact go wrong

Thanks y’all! <3

And as far as rushing builds and things going wrong, we learned that the hard way on our first try doing custom mandalorians. Definitely going to take the Spartan build process slow though; will probably be a bit before I actually start a WIP due to life being extra life-y right now.
In the meantime though, I’m going to keep playing my way through Reach!
What’s everyone’s favorite in game weapons?
I picked up an SRS99 for the first time last night and now that I’m getting better at aiming I had an absolute blast (no pun intended) with it!
I think I just must naturally gravitate toward well designed alien races because I just really enjoy their weapon designs.

I play mostly Halo Infinite now and used to be the crazy one that just runs in and starts firing Now though, I've come to really enjoy the VK78 Commando and the S7 Sniper.
