Hey guys, my friend Jeff (Stuntman), and myself were looking into some mold supplies. So far it looks like we are going to get...

Mold-max

Smooth-Cast

http://www.smooth-on.com/Urethane-Plastic-a/c5_1120_1210/index.html 320</a>. Any opinions on these materials, and if these are good, then what hardness would you recommend?

Thanks for the input.

Mold max is for box molds

I recommend rebound 25 if you are making a glove mold for a helmet or armor piece

mold max is more for molding props like dagger or guns etc. You can make mold max brushable with an additive but its too much hassle

smoothcast 320 is good, its cheaper than 300 I think. It has a little more filler though so it might not be as ridgid from what I've noticed

Not to mention you'll need an accurate gram scale for Mold Max. It's not 1:1 by volume like smooth cast, rebound, or dragon skin. However, it's not purely for box molds. I vaguely remember Spase using Mold Max. However, like SupermanExtreme said, it's not as easy to use/mix.

oh right!

that too

rebound is 25 is a 1 : 1 mix ration (less hassle)

mold max is a 10/100 mix ratio. (1/10)

You got a new mold max called mold max brush, that had the specs of mold max but is brushable (whats in a name right..) Other than that, just try looking at the specs on the Smooth-on side. It provide all the correct data.
