from www.yeesjob.com - for those of you to lazy to follow the link - a working v12 papercraft project.

It took approximately two years to design this spectacular magical art for you to put together. This “V12 four-stroke Engine” has semi-realistic exterior and interior detail. Each of 12 spark plugs (LEDs) is ignited accordingly to the moving cycle. Many moveable parts include a compound crankshaft, a rapid cooling fan, 12 rods and 12 pistons etc. It is made with paper entirely (except some little wood sticks, some tapes, 12 LEDs, some electrical wires, 12 switches, a resistor, a motor and a battery holder).

link - click to view largeness.

a PDF file with 575 pages of instructions and another PDF file contain 195 patterns, for $90 Canadian.

Cool, but I don't have the patience for another project. someone forward this to rvb4life.

Wait....am i suddenly the papercraft master on the forum? Score!

lol, i dont think i can do that sort of stuff yet. Before i started pepakura in general, i did manage to build a 1:48 Saturn V, until the frickin glue quit on me and turned the paper into crackers. Ugh. Will never go back there again. Still, it looked freakin amazing, the first stage was 4 feet tall :D
Yeah, i have seen this before, but i didnt think it was for sale. OMG 2000 pieces!

lol i am not gonna spend 90 bucks on that (even though it would be worth it TOTALLY)....just to epic-ly fail.

dissappointment, i know, but why buy when i could torrent it ;) just kidding....

thanks for noticing me though :p

I think it's funny how people on this forum call anything papercraft "pep" or "pepakura" even though it has nothing to do with the program itself pepakura. Theres papercraft forums that call pepakura crafts "paper craft". It becomes so confusing but they all mean the same thing

Btw, that does look hard, I'd never attempt it, but someone has and they're showing proof of it. The only time I ever make something is if I really like it, or will have a small use for it.

True, but when pepakura is mentioned, most of us think it uses the program pepakura. I know pepakura is papercraft in japanese, but still :p

I went through an anime stage a few years ago, before i got into pep (paper modeling in general), so it dosent suprise me.
You all may just know pepakura for the fact you make armor pieces out of the program, but papercraft is almost an entirely different thing.
not that i recommend you go here, but 4chan's /po/ board has some stuff i used to do.

whoever can pull off a V-12 engine that works is a god in my book (and im an atheist, so thats somethin')

I originally got into papercraft back when I was in elementary school. There was a program, the name of which escapes me, that allowed you to print out various things; catapult, ferris wheel, the like. This is back when the Mac IIe was top of the line, and oregon trail was the shizzle.
I've been doing this forever, and I've always called it either paper modeling, or paper craft. Its only recently (past 5 years) that I've been referring to them as peps. Some of my earliest pepakura files are still tucked away here, somewhere. I think I've still got the 5th element police pistol (my first .pdo).

edit: I lied. I don't have the .pdo anymore, just the jpeg files.

LoL I just had a vision of some A-hole walking by, right as they glued on the last piece and smashing it.
Edit - Or flicking a cigarette that supernaturally engulfed the whole thing in flames.

And thats exactly why I wouldn't build it. I might have to kill someone over it.
