How cool did it feel when you put that on for the first time?

Thats the greatest thing about making Spartan armor, it's a LOT of work, and
investment of time and/or money, but when you put it on it's all worth it.

And really this has got to be inspiring to all the people here who don't
think they have the means to make some armor!

Once again, nice job. Now that you've made the cardboard armor do you
feel any need to go pro and make it out of plastic or make more?

you mean when i finished all the parts and first wore it?
man
i felt like a million bucks
hmmm , plastic? it depends
iv been looking at coroplast {material commonly used in election signs}
but are there any cheap plastics out there that i can just cut out?
for the hunter project, cardboard would be the easiest, but weaker

You should really look into styrene plastic....vacuum forming plastic as a materials for cut and paste.

It's cheap, like $20 for a 4x8' sheet.

It's easy to work with, you can cut it with scissors, and assemble it with super glue.

I make my armor by cutting and glueing this sheet platic and then I reinforce it with resin and fiberglass. I love to work with this stuff. You should check it out.

Not especially...it all depends on the thickness you get. Potentially you
could get it thick enough that you could make your armor out of it without
reinforcing it and still cut it with scissors and bend it nicely.

It's thermalform plastic, so you could heat and bend it so you have less
cuts to make too.

Still it has to be more sturdy than cardboard. I'm not knocking cardboard,
I'm sure the flexibility really helps, but it's just something to try if you should want.

Great job on the armor, again... :Steve:

I was gonna try making a Hunter suit/costume

i may have to steal your idea

iv been looking at pictures of hunters and it does seem do-able , but it would have to be the same as the elite, your head would be in the chest area unless you have special stilts, i will keep you all informed of my progress once i start :hyper:
Goodluck. If you do make one you should make one for a friend, you know how hunters travel in pairs. I was gonna make my hunter costume shrinked down to my size, not the real height or anything. A real sized suit would make it more realistic though.
