Hello 405th!

I recently joined after meeting with some of you awesome folks at the 405th table at Wondercon 2016. It was at that table that my 11 year old got bitten by the cosplay bug and decided that she wanted a set of Halo-inspired armor. I figured "why not?" and decided to give it a shot. So, long story short and 3+ months later (with many late nights, frustration and uncertainty), I think I'm done. My daughter called the shots on which armor, helmet, and color scheme she wanted. It was a daunting task and I think I did OK for a first try at foam armor, even though the helmet came out LARGE in proportion to the rest of the armor. A miscalculation on measurement on my part. Oh well, you live and learn. My daughter will be making her debut as a Spartan this weekend at San Diego Comic-Con 2016. Looking forward to running into other Spartans and 405thers this weekend!

Below are pics of the in-progress as well as testing fitting.

Cheers!

H

TK702, nice work.....the helmet isn't that far off the mark and she'll grow in to it shortly......then you have to redo the armor a bit to allow for growth. Overall, Fantastic work!!!! Lines are clean and crisp. Great details. Another "Dad of the Year" nominee!!
