Well, time for the reveal! Took the Forward Unto Dawn armor out to two different conventions this past week. Here are a couple pics I've found:

I've seen plenty of recent photos on Facebook from Ermac who wore Carter build.
I wasn't sure if it was you, as I didn't know if you completed and were at the con, but you were the first person I thought of.

Yup, I was definitely at C2E2!! Thank you so much!! It was great to finally take the armor out and see if people would actually like it. Though no one knew it was the FUD armor, if was still cool seeing people's faces light up

Also, don't blame people. Most people just see Master Chief when they hear "Halo", they don't see his different armor in different games... and to recognize the details from the movie which many people didn't watch.

Also have a few new photos for an update. Got the spine all painted and weathered. Next step will be to attach each piece to an elastic strap, and attach to my back piece and underarmor. Here are some kinda boring pics:

I used a couple rare earth magnets. Worked like a charm
The spine I actually free-handed and didn't use any kind of pep file. I wanted an accurate look, so that's how I had to do it.

Hahahaha, never! I don't mind sharing all my ideas and secrets for making stuff. People have certainly helped me get to where I am, so I'd love to pass that down to others.

Seriously, one of the best builds I've seen. The accuracy and level of detail is astonishing.
Also, just a question - it's the same weapon you made out of foam, right? Is it heavy?

Yes, the AR you see is the one I posted pictures of me building and painting. Even with the battery, it weighs .95 pounds, so the magnets keep it stuck to my back very easily. Made out of 2 thicknesses 1/2" foam core as a base, and various layered craft foam around that. Thus, the weight is extremely light, which was the point.
