I'm loving your progress so far!

Is that Assault Rifle bought, or did you mold it? I need one really badly...

Also, how much silicone did you use to mold your whole suit? I'm thinking of recasting, but I need to know how much I'd need for that...

that assault rifle is just a pep model full of great stuff and some resin on the outside... we built it a while back solely for the purpose of meeleing foos in the back... as for the silicon, we did all that is possible to use as little as possible, but so far we have used about 2 gallons...

Wait, didn't we buy two gallons but have only used one so far for the chest, back, and helmet? We still have the other gallon un-opened right?

If I plan to recast my casts, should I just buy around 6 gallons?

Also, what do I use for a mother mould? You guys seem to know what you're doing, so I'd like to know how you mould that stuff.

oh yeah, we do have another new gallon, good news...

I was begining to worry ... thinking that the silicone had been un-necessarilly wasted like that stupid Thivex.

I got a helmet from the famous BlueRealm in yesterday, but i just got home today and havent had much time to work on it, but i managed to get the liner in it... heres some pics:

we had to order one more gallon of silicon, some thivex (due to a rather unfortunate spillage...), and two more gallons of plastic, but if that comes in tomorrow, we should have a full suit put together by tuesday or wednesday.

and does anyone know a good pressure suit to buy? ive been looking at a Sixsixone 661 but i dont really like the design on the back... does anyone know what kind Adam used in his video?

There's several things you can use for a mother mold. You can use Plastipaste which you can order from Smooth-On, but it costs and arm and a leg and if you dont use enough, it falls apart. You can use Plaster O' Paris on the little things ... you can get a big gallon at Wal-Mart for 5 bucks. We recently started using "Bondo Hair." You can get that at Advanced auto or Autozone. It's good stuffs.

today i test fit the visor in the BlueRealm helmet and gathered up a few upper body pieces to get an idea of proportionality...

this is not my final undersuit but rather just a leather jacket, but it did nicely for a test...
100_0309.jpg

the color right now is just primer, although it looks pretty cool, maybe a "stealth" spartan may be in the works next...

all the pieces seem to be the right size, but i will need to modify some things for mobility reasons... the shoulder piece is indeed missing the bicep, but i didnt have a good pull with me at the time...

the smooth on crap still hasnt made it, but it should be here tomorrow, and if it does in fact come, we expect a full suit by later than friday...

Did you make the bicep with pepakura? I know the forearm would be fairly big, so how did you choose to scale the biceps...

I also like how it looks to indent for the forearm... :p

yeah, the bicep is a cast of the latest HD file by robogenesis if im not mistaken... i just scaled the bicep to my height, which i believe was 74 or something like that...

It all blends together nicely... :)

Is the body from fly squirrel too?

yeah, i took that model and used clay for the detail work before i molded it... but i would recommend using bondo... the clay was too much trouble and yielded infinite problems...

waat did you use for the lining in that helmet? have you used the same for the rest of the armor?

That's obviously a motorcycle liner...

yeah, its just a liner i got out of one of my old street bike helmets... and thats actually a camaro... as for the rest of the armor, i am just using memory foam from an old mattress cover thing, which seems to work pretty well...
