Hey guys, I stopped at a hardware store today (Canadian Tire) and managed to find what I think will be the perfect paint.

It's called DupliColor Engine Enamel: Cast Coat Iron. First, you'll need to spray on some primer, then use the paint. It's a dark gray colour with a hint of metallics (which I'm not a fan of, but they're hardly noticeable) and has a fairly dull finish. With some dry-brushing, it'll look great on any gun.

You make a good point there, TD. For some reason, that totally slipped my mind, lol. Also something to carefully consider, and some good advice for anyone else who might read this thread.

However, I'm sure he's figured this all out for himself. So, as he said on the last page, "enough about weight". He'll build it/weigh it how he wants, which is of course the perogative of any prop builder.

Let's just focus on the entirety of his WiP now. Looking forward to more updates, mustang :cool

Regarding the paint you chose, would it be possible for you to spray some on a small "test" piece of scrap, so we can all see what it looks like? Might help other 405th-ers decide on whether or not they'd want to use the same for their own weapon builds.

:pIt's like having my own SPARTAN body guard...

I agree with you thadecade, I usually like to drop things myself. It's fine that you mentioned this, it IS constructive criticism after all. I don't really care if anyone has any other thoughts about the weight, as shotguns are pretty good at being friggin' heavy.

I also thought of some type of sling that would be mounted off the stock, and lower barrel.

Anyways, I started to Resin it last night, it seems to have worked out OK. I noticed that the Resin ate away at the foam to a little extent, but nothing that will ruin it.

And for the paint, I have one of the barrels almost all painted, and even after just one coat looks amazing.

EDIT: Hey TD, I noticed you've got more counters in stock! You 'da man!

Hey, what happend to the two comments that I put on here about the weight distribution of the upper breach and the method of glueing? I coul have sworn that I left a comment on this and you replyed to it?!?! Well anyways like I said before, watch the wieght of the upper breach, the wood may way down the front part of your gun, the foam may not be ablt to handle it.

Adam had to backdate the forum, it was corrupted or something. There's a millions topics about it...

And, awesome work on the shotty! Love it!

I didn't see anything on it... It was kinda weird, I just came on and everything was gone... :(

I guess this is what the post-apocalyptic world will be like.

Oh, I'll try my best! ;)

I ran out of Bondo a while back, so once I get back from vacation, I'll try and see if I can get some more. I'm a little short on spending money right now.
