My shopping list (and wish list) so far:

---------------------------------------------------
Core items, things I need or want before I start.

Bodysuit ($150.00)
Dri-tek bodysuit & neckseal (asking about a 1-piece pullover neckseal)
http://www.shadowdalecreations.com/imperial.htm
I may start looking at patterns & materials myself

Visor ($35.95) & liner (around $30.00)
http://shopping.scorpionusa.com/F4BD78EED5...479B87D7AE2BE56

Communications ($59.99) +accessories ($35.00: Car charger, HS915 headset, AC adapter)
http://www.unidendirect.com/itemdetail.cfm...2CK&tabid=1

Sub-Total: $310.94 (and I haven't started the armor yet)
---------------------------------------------------
Optional Items :whistle:

Control systems (not sure yet, looking at 2 or 3 controllers + various probes and display items; this will be used to manage the cooling system if I decide to add it)
http://www.oopic.com/

Cooling system (will likely mod to add heating) ($500.00; depends on whether the suit is that hot)
http://www.tpmfg.us/index1.php?id=34&p...;page=Kool_Suit

HUD (one of these) Microvision: ???; Myvu: $200.00
http://www.microvision.com/wearable_displays/index.html
http://www.myvu.com/
http://www.trivisio.com/mixed-reality.html#AR (unfortunatly, no good see-through augmented reality)

Sub-Total: likely over $800
---------------------------------------------------
My kill-to-get list

Juniper IR cam (????, wish I had a real chance to incorperate this)

So, what did I miss?

I want that hud omg looks awesome. Hey does the wmvu work with zunes?

NVM Im getting MYVU universal cause it works for zune.

Not so much I normally make an extra $30+ a week during the holidays; then theres income tax returns, I could possibly have most of the core items from Christmas. Instead of using the body suit from Shadow Dale, I am looking at makinga suit (or repurposing some coveralls/flight suit) to attach the armor to. I already have a flight suit to use for a pattern, and may use it for early testing of armor (no need to use nomex when it really isn't going to add anything to appearance or function).

Thanks for the offer, but I'm good. :cool:
If I had the money available now I could make a nice one in a couple weeks; but I think being forced to take my time will give me more appreciation for the project.

From the appearance you look over it, but this may be 'poetic license'
Even if it doesn't project an image I may use it above or below the visor as a HUD

If you want to see whats available for see-through, look up "augmented reality"

I'd really love a customizable one that could be reflected off the visor.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I've voted for "other"
Chose a color. or pattern, you like
Me, I'm going to go with a digi based on the Army's pattern (I'm in the NG and can use it for recruiting drives then)
Only problem is that most of the stuff that's out is Video-See-Through, in this system, images of what is in front of you is fed into a computer, then the computer combines it with the augmentations & then transmits it to your eyes; if the system goes dead, you see nothing.
I really want an optical-see-through system (Myvu or similar), that way you can still operate if your system goes down.
the Microvision one is an image projected onto safety glasses
while the Myvu is slim enough that you can at least look over it (or under it), as well as through it
Of course, with the first system you don't really need a visor; just put a smooth surface on the inside & paint the outside gold
But ya, the warfighter stuff is cool, have not had a chance to try it yet; they have one set up for convoy ops at Camp Atterbury
for the Juniper...
I'm afraid to ask, it's one of those things that if you have to ask the price you probably can't afford it.
[Edited: clarified what I was saying, added info on Myvu I didn't have until post 14]
What do you mean the computer stuff and the system goes down.
Would you be able to see through the myvu though cause i really dont wana buy something that wont work and is 200+ dollars. I was asking if it is a light screen and projects on anything but your the only one who can see it and could still slightly see your surroundings.
Sorry, I was not clear; I was decribing a video-see-through system. This is one type of augmented reality technology, the other being the optical-see-through.
In the video-see-through, you cannot see through the display, everything depends on the system.
Just found this, it's official, the Myvu can be concidered optical-see-through
"The glasses themselves are designed to be unobtrusive. With the eyewear on, I had left and right peripheral vision through little windows, and it's easy to peer above and below the slim frame. Thanks to the see-through design of the glasses, there's no need to remove them in order to see the setup screen on the iPod."
As for the Juniper, I found some othr IR cams running in the tens of thousands of dollars (around $50,000 for one of them); which is why it's in the "Kill to get" list, which is probably the only way I'd be able to get one.
But here's to dreaming!
Note on Shadow Dale
I was giving them some time to reply to a query; they just pointed me back here. They did say it was a good forum, and wished me luck.
To be fair, my original questions:
I'm going to start working on a set of Mjolnir armor (Halo), and I was looking at body suits and neck seals and found your site.
I was wondering the following
1) if armor pieces could be attached to the bodysuit (yes I would be linking the pieces together too).
2) I was wanting a pull over neckseal, I intend to attach a magnetic helmet seal (intend to run signal lines into the helmet)
3) any suggestions on boots as a base for the armor (9-1/2 wide, want to gain an extra inch or two)
This is posted on their custom order page:
Well, looks like my armor going to be on hold for a while; and I'm going to be gone for at least two weeks while I find out if I'm going to be gone longer. Though, the longer I'm gone the more I'll have to invest in my armor (and other things).
