Hello, I am new to this kind of costume making and I am very interested in the facinating products that you guys have came up with, with just paper! :eek Your costumes are all so professional and I would like to get started in making my own armor.

However, I am not trying to make a Halo-based armor, instead I wish to create a Starcraft 2 Marine Power Armor Suit with everything inclcuded. Something that will look like Tychus Findley's Marine Power Armor

I was wondering if someone has already done this or if there is a link relating to this, can you give me the link and everything.

Also, I've read and seen many tutorials and I have some questions:

1. Can this be done with Pepakura? because the suit is gonna be pretty round in many places (eg. the shoulders, the helmet) I've read some threads and they say that Pepakura isnt going to look nice with more rounded armors? And if it is so, then what should I make the armor out of? Perhaps cardboard?

2. Can you substitute Aqua Resin for Epoxy? My woodshop has plenty of Epoxy and Fiberglass and they would probably let me use them (to save me money!! Aqua Resin starter kits bout $30 :Q according to Skullcandy Girl)

3. Where is the cheapest place I can get a wide gold Simpson visor (or any visor that looks like the one in the picture, im not so good with visors) enough to cover my entire face like how it covers the marine http://www.flickr.com/photos/vrogy/531241310/

Also, any ideas, pep models, or anything that will help me will be very appreciated :D

Thank you for your time! :D

Hey! Welcome to the 405th! Well to answer some of your questions...

1:Yes, it can be done with pepakura, if you can find the files. Card stock would be cheapest and probably easiest. To get the round parts, people use stuff commonly referred to as "Bondo", which you can sand to get that nice rounded look.

2:Fiberglass is commonly used to reinforce armor. Aqua resin is just a less toxic alternative.

3:Most people get their visors from Ebay (I think), but the gold HJC visors are around $40. You might be able to find a cheap clear one, and get some gold tinting for it.

Hope I helped! If you need any other answers, just ask!
