I've done more work on this :) *WARNING* large pictures!

This isn't like other armor: pretty and clean. This armor is dirty, and been through hell! (not really, but lets just pretend)

The "dirt" you see on here is a mixture of dirt (suprise!), water, and caulking - if you must know.

Hello, Armor is finished! (Just need pics of me in it :p)

I just wanted to show everybody how my helmet works: (yes, the pictures are reasonable size!!!)

Now to explain the images:

I built my helmet so it would be skin-tight (not wise to do, but it works), and the chin-piece was getting in the way. So I split the chin piece in half and have it work like a shutter, when I put the helmet on, I tuck in tabs (not visible) and attach the velcro.

And by the way, I wore my armor today. Best experience ever! Thankfully it sustained minimal damage (such as seams coming undone, but no ripping!)

This is a new meaning to the phrase "split-lip" :D

Here is what the helmet looks like (yes, it is covered in mud... it hides blemishes, and the fact I ran out of rustoleum)

Has anyone else been mistaken as a transformer (twice!) or a stormtrooper?

I just had my scout helmet on today and I was asked "are you an aligator" I got pretty mad :angry

Great cardboarding though I cardboarded the chest pice and it looks like what you find in a toilet compared to yours :lol

What did you use to cut the cardboard?

Went to a halloween dance last night. I don't understand the music that my peers dance to. o_O

Had a slight wardrobe malfunction: a side of the codpiece broke :( I forgot to fix it!

Still, I won an awesome prize of candy and $1 of my $4 admission back, so it was worth it.

If all goes well I'll be posting pictures of my completed armor by tomorrow.

Well... at my school at least half of the student boy knows what halo is :por at least another armored sci-fi character.

To cut my chest piece, I used plain old scissors - and maybe a little help from an "exacto-knife".

I used pep pieces for reference (that explains the awesomeness), except for the gauntlets. I traced those parts off my computer screen, onto the cardboard, then assembled it. :eek I'll make a viddy and post it within a few weeks (I hope).

I've been working with cardboard for as long as I can remember. I remember about 5 years back I made a portable toilet costume for my mother (with the help of my brothers). Turned out well. I have a complete lack of a life, then again, that's why I joined the 405th :)

Double post, but for a good reason!

Epic pics of myself in my armor with my spiker:

Looks pretty good, considering I spent about $20 on it, lost my black sweater, and have worn it for 9 hours since Friday morning!

I couldn't go out trick-or-treating :( its down pouring where I am, and very windy (my cat made a day of watching the trees sway in the wind). So I made up for it by wearing my costume a bit, and having a photoshoot.
