I've followed this scaling tutorial and printed out what i thought would be the correct size however after I assembled the hole my head goes through it turns out my head doesn't fit (picture here).

Is the guide wrong on how to scale ?
Height of my head is 220MM but i added 20MM to make it 240MM just to be sure it covers my face

oh and the helmet ive used is the one here

Sometimes the head hole will need to be clipped or trimmed to make a fit. Some helmets need modifications for fitting. Your best bet is to finish assembling and see how it fits then.

My head Hight is 240 MM
My width is about 180MM

Should you always go by the hight property? Also the width takes in to account the whole thing not the hole right? therefore if i was to add 50MM to my hight that should make the hole the correct width for me but is this bad? will it effect the end result of the full armour?

I personally would use the width of your head, then go scale the helm to that. THEN (that's not it yet) go into the 2D Menu>Edit Mode>Measure Distance Between Two Points. Flip the helm on its head and measure the opening, then use the scale up/down 10% until the opening is within 10-20mm. This is what I have had to use for my kids because they aren't proportionate compared to an adult.

Not everyone has the same shape. you use your best judgement when inputting dimensions. And good luck.

The MKVI helmet ALMOST ALWAYS requires that you modify it AFTER it's hardened so that the back bottom piece can be removed in order to even put it on. Some helmets can easily be slipped over your head with minimal/no trimming and there are some helmets that require you to do more in order to get it on.

Also, I see that 220mm is 8.65 inches. I would round that measurement up to 9 inches THEN add an inch (10in) making your final measurement 254mm for the height.

Thanks everyone! youve all been very helpful, one last question (for now ;)) Do I manually place the sections or is there away for the program to sort them, but not put them on lots of pages?

What I have seen is that the program does a very inadequate job at putting the pieces onto the pages in a manner that would save you the most paper, so I personally just manually set them up in a way that will fit best. I believe I saved five plus sheets on my build based on the program's placement on the paper
