ODST Build!

Don't like to double post but here's some stuff on what it might look like in the final stages!

Here's a render I made of a yellow concept:

Comment on above: I like it. Yellow is my favourite colour so that explains this idea, to be honest it doesn't seem like something an ODST would wear as it's far too bright. A more 'brassy' colour might work.

Here's the same render but with digital camo suited to a forest:

Comment on above: New Zealand has lot's of bush and forestry so I figured "What about camo as an idea for colouring?"

Well 405th, as always give me your wisdom!

Well guys. All is lost. I have to triple-post.

News!
I have added a link to my build into my signature!
Later (once I've built the tester helmet) I'll start building more armour pieces (of course) but with Hugh Holder's ODST files which I'm very very grateful for and can't wait to begin again. The tester I'm building will likely be strengthened, painted + weathered and no visor work will be done. It'll be a colour scheme tester.

I believe Hugh's files (at least the ones I want to use) are foam based except for the helmet, this means I can see how I like foam-building. There is a thread related to this, here.

Now, I have questions for the people:
In terms of colour schemes, should I go for the forest-digital camo in the above render or should I go for my signature black+lime green scheme based on the Reach style?

This has been an ugly, pic-less triple post. I look forward to your advice.

221, out.

7221 - The next step

ODST-7221 signing in.
I'm taking this build in a new direction - 3D printing. This means a few things such as a new thread to replace this dead one. I'm a decent 3D modeller and once I've modelled the ODST parts for 3D printing (if they work out) I'll submit them to the file archive.

I may pick up where I left off but 3D printing seems more viable for Armageddon Expo in mid-July. The new thread will open up as soon as the 3D printer has arrived.

221 signing off, maybe for the last time on this particular thread.

Your renders look good. I would love to know how youare progressing on your pep. I know me and my husband tend to use super glue for our pep. It is easier, and doesn't cause odd bumps or gaps in the paper edges.

Guess what... Another render!

This one uses Blender's cycles render (trust me you'll notice the difference) and looks so much better. Now, before I show off the render... You may have seen I mentioned that this build is going a different way. Now, for general tidiness (especially since I'm a tidy kiwi) I'll use this thread to follow up once out of the modelling phase as showing off the armour build in the 3D modelling section itself is a little weird amirite?.
Now this isn't to say I've given up on the 'traditional' build I started with. That is, another follow-up.

Now, I'm done saying now and bibbly babbling about nonsensical hooh-hah, Here's the render I mentioned 7.77 years ago:

This is my semi-final colour scheme. Tell me what you guys think.

Til' next time...
