ODST Rework

Yesterday i finished the black coat as well as sanding to get this paint job underway
I got the helmet ready for paint. also somebody in the discord was asking what’s the best way to cover more area while painting and this is always been my method
My gold spray paint ran away and all hope was lost till it decided to come back and let me finish this project
I installed the visor to see how it looks and let’s just say one ready for the rest of the armor

Appreciate it! My buddy does my printing i’m pretty sure they belong to moesizzlac. As for the CMN i was actually given to me by another halo cosplayer who didn’t need it so i have no idea who modeled that one.

Hey guy i’m back with another update. A big thing i wanted to do was fix some of the problems i was having with my odst while wearing it. The shoulders were causing me big problems a main thing that I noticed was the strap I was using were too thin and the way that Andrew DTF Set up the strapping work on the ODST you can’t take the shoulders off of the armor unless you add a buckle so that’s exactly what i did. I also added some straps for the aesthetic of making it look like the armor was being held on by buckles.
Next problem that I had was believing that I could hold the shoulder on with just a simple piece of Velcro and the Velcro on the shirt. I found it the armor came off too easily so I finally added the bicep straps to the shoulder pieces
The last elephant in the room that I needed to fix was the fact that I wasn’t a huge fan of the completely gold chest piece. I thought it was maybe too much gold which is a weird thing to say because who could have too much gold…. Anyways I painted some of the pieces black
That’s all for now. The goal is to have this done and at Atlanta Comic Con so i’ll keep trucking along.

Hey guys I was MIA for a little but for the holidays and work but I've got a few days to just work so here is some updates from the last time.
PRINTS ARE DONE
I've upgrade to 3D printed shins based off the Halo 3 ODST armor they are just glued right now so I need to still do everything else to them so that are ready to go but that's a tomorrow problem.
Another print straight off the bed is the SMG. One of the biggest problems that I had before was I was an ODST with no guns so now I have not one....
But two that's right I found this bad boy on marketplace.
Anyways I got 9 days till Atlanta Comic Con so I'll keep giving updates on my progress. Right now its just prep and paint the prints worst comes to worst I'll run the MA40 as the nerf paintjob for this con since it is in game.

Update on the ODST
I'm so bad at taking photos while working on things here is one of the in progress photos of the shins. I'm hoping tomorrow I'll have actually finished photos of the shins.
I added some smaller details on the armor. I like adding music related easter eggs to all my builds so here is the lyrics from "lonely day" by System of the Down on my shoulder piece. I tried to add something that a solider in a war might write on their armor. If you're unaware of the lyrics the acronym means "And if you die i wanna die with you"
Last update for this post is after some printing of the wrong parts I finally got the chest set up how I wanted to. I opted for actually molles for this part since now I don't have to worry about not having pockets plus I like the way this looks.

Update: This rework has hit the one month mark and we’re practically done with it
to start off Chest is done
this cosplay was the first time I experimented with using hardware such as screws. Because I knew the middle chest piece would be an impact piece that’s generally a lot harder I reinforced it with superglue and then added a self tapper on the back so now you need to rip the foam to get it off
The next big hurdle I’ve been going through has been getting the shins on. I’m primarily a Phone builder so this will be my first set of 3-D printed shins
I had to add the strapping so that it could be held together by friction
I noticed the problem I was having was the fact that it was shifting while I was walking so I added foam underneath so that it would stay in place here’s the picture of it after the foam was added
It’s very subtle but everything lines up how I wanted it to it doesn’t shift when I walk and it doesn’t make a lot of noise.
I’m hoping tomorrow I can have a full reveal of the everything together
Atlanta comic con is this Friday but I’m only going Saturday I’m hoping to be able to post some photos here of at the con and then I have a photographer who gonna take some photos of me as well.
