Odst Visor

Indeed. I know Spase made one very successfully out of a motorcycle visor, but all the pictures in his thread seem to be down now. And as I recall it involved a lot of cutting to get it to stick out in the middle properly. In my opinion, the vac-formed ones are the way to go unless you're REALLY handy with a dremel (and you'll likely pay more for a motorcycle visor anyway).

I trying to find the vid right now, but someone used a heat gun and shaped it with his (heatglove covered) bare hands, it turned out the best I think

ok well first of all how do u get infantryman (what a dumb reason) and two why does it matter. can i not simply get an answer, how much would it cost if it was priced or what would be of equal trade if it was tradable.

well thats dumb, why would i need to be a special member just to buy a visor. that doesnt make any sense to me, it would discourage me and other users that i cant get something cause i'm not good enough at an internet site.

Except that you meet those qualifactions. It probobly means AT LEAST 100 posts. lol. Thats a meme.

It will be easier to find once they get the forums back up to snuff

The staff is working on a whole bunch of stuff for the forums. Hopefully everything will be sorted out soon.

Ya, I think a lot of people pep and fiberglass the visor separately then mold and vacuum form it

This is the way Sean does his. Then he dips them to get the different colors. Reverse mold vac forming would be the best way to do it...that way the sharp edges are on the outside.....but to make a mold like that would be very time consuming....

didnt get a hold of him.
tried to email u but this came up

It's really make no sense. If I was someone who has no creating skills and i need to buy almost everything i could contact senior members. But this.... looks weird. I'm member of 501st Legion where they are selling armor and parts to everyone and it's no problem so thats why i don't understand policy of 405th

As far as my understanding goes the reason the 501st can buy and sell parts so freely is because alot of the star wars gear is commercialised, meaning to say that good 'ol George has given people permission (and said people have paid for that permission) to reproduce the costumes used in the movies. Whereas the 405th is entirely fan based, has no commercial licensing or backing and Microsoft, Bungie, 343 Industries (every entity involved with making Halo) hasnt formally endorsed what we do. They mearly tolerate it. If everyone here started mass producing armor and costumes and selling them, thats money they miss out on and would probably take legal action against the site... which many people might not like.
Hope that answers that, if anyone knows otherwise please add.

ben streeper has a clip on vacuum forming which I found very straight froward, he also has it on you tube, I know your frustration, but I know youll be over the moon when its all completed!! keep up the good work my friend!! ("iycagonakilya" is bens youtube video username channel/thingy bob)

Got it! I did not know that, i thought we are same as 501st, with some kind of licensing from Bungie.

i first have to say that the 501st is also more fanbased than anything and all the people doing replica armor and other armor for sale taht is of high quality MLC kropsircle etc .... are as far as i know fans and are not liscenced and will never will be hence why they do short runs of their parts as that is all that is allowed cause otherwise every shop during halloween would have good quality armor .... george lucas does recognize the 501st as a great fan site he likes the fact that they are making costumes by hand etc ... it flatters him as far as i know... so in the end argument 501st and 405th are one and the same... with wonderful propmasters artists and what not creating awsome wearable works of art however we are not the same people 501st and 405th are different in that respect that its not the same people running the show :p

.... and before you flame me saying i am incorrect.... i myself am a member of the 501st capital city garrison....... i do however accept the fact that i may be incorrect about some things and would not mind if those points were politely pointed out.....
