i've been reasing up on how to fiberglass etc and looks messy dificult and dangerous but when you apply the resin coat on the outside first could you not just use a few layers of pva glue?

Sounds cheap i know.

I am trying a technique using Modge Podge and then Plaster Wrap over it. So far it is really rigid and light. Not sure of the durability though.

The resin is stiffer (i guess) than glue, and you know the resin you will later apply to the fiberglass will bond to it. Idk if resin bonds to glue.
