Also, most people don't mix Bondo correctly.

Don't mix in circles, just mix on a sheet of plastic and move it around.

A good way to apply a thing smooth layer of bondo is with bondo spatulas, or a cheaper method is use a credit card or gift card you don't need ( as seen in crackheads video tutorials), I do not recommend normal cooking spatulas as they bend to easy and will not apply the right amount of force, leaving you with a very lumpy peice. ( just thought i'd add more info to the conversation.)

Or just a flat piece of card.... I normally use scrap bits of MDF.
I'm hoping to have some pics up of the rest of the still in wip stuff tonight, just need to figure out some kinks in my camera.

That some sexy stuff man, keep up the good work!

Offtopic:
I donated $50 to the Victorian fire appeal, It's not much, but I know you guys need all the support you can get. Hope your area recovers soon dude.

Good on you mate, theres defenitly people down here who need it. I woke up this morning to smoke in the air again, not sure exactly were its coming from atm.

Another tip, invest in some power tools, an electric sander (you should be able to find one for $20 or $30), and the best tool ever made, a dremel, $60-80ish...
With sandpaper, get a hard grit (i use 80, somtimes even 60) for the vigorous sanding, and then when the majority of the crap is sanded down, use a thinner grit.

>.< Im am such a noob but i gotta ask, what kind of electric sander?
And, what is a dremel?

Btw Awesome man, i think i posted one "Awesome" reply, but he comes another.

hey just wondering did you figure out how youre going to do the strapping for the armor, because i just started scratch building ODST and thats the only problem ive been having with planning. i dont know how to strap the torso.

I should go ahead and make something to be in the ODST trading group that seems to be happening here.

Rachiav- I haven't completely worked out the torso strapping yet, I've got some vague ideas, but that's about it.
Adam- ODST trading group? like trading parts or something?
UNIT- I'm not sure mine quite tops weta's... but thanks for the compliment ;)

What I mean, is I see all these parts being built, powers should be combined to ensure entire ODSTs are created before launch :)

I like it...
I should be receiving a large supply of molding mats and filler very soon, plus i have a few days off, so I'm hoping to get some more of the chest done, plus the shin, plus one thigh. The helmet is the thing that going to cause me the most pain and annoyance. :cautious:
