Looking good!

It seems that you have the molding of part down. MY only concern is that you may have created a undercut in your mold, but im not sure.

@Adam, I like your idea. There are a lot of builder of the ODST armor, maybe we should work thorougher...

@rachciav:
Im using a faom that is used of furnisher. I think its called cold foam over there but im not sure, its really comfortable, not expansive, easy to cut, easy to glue and easy accessible.

Remraf- A tube of spot putty lasts for ages, yeah i use a lot, but it helps a lot too ;)
rachciav- It's part of an old camping mat i had in the shed, i was going to go and buy (expensive) neoprene, but figured it will be covered in fabric anyway.
falcon NL- no undercuts, this isn't my first mold ;)

It came out perfectly, the new silicon in using is much better quality than smooth-on and a fraction of the price. there are NO bubbles whatsoever :D
Now I'm off to make some casts!

I'm double posting like a crazy person!

This is right out of the mold, only thing i had to do to it was cut off a very thin layer of resin that splashed up on the sides!! diddnt even have to use spot putty. I HAVE MADE A NEAR PERFECT MOLD!!! *dies*

Thanks SKG, FMA's finished, aside from some of the pieces I'm casting in silver :D Ill get some pics up this weekend.
ODST has had very little progress, I'm going to try to get a heap on the shins done this weekend, perhaps get on side of them under some silicon. Unless i get caught up playing halo wars... which i s a high probability... :D

The rewards of a hard days work:

Its getting there! i finished the toe piece, that will go under some silicon some time in the next few weeks, I'm hoping to have the shin piece done some time in the next 4-6 weeks...
now to do some sewing! (state alchemist will be finished TONIGHT!)

oh, and for those interested, here's the state alchemist collar badge i cast in silver:

A couple casts, they came out pretty well, very little work needs to be done on them.

Dalchem, its a small company here in aus, they don't have as versatile products as smooth-on, but smooth-on here in aus is VERY expensive (import tax etc...)

the last grit i use is P180. But i use P60 and 80 for the majority of the sanding, it get through it quicker. Although i didn't need tot do a lot of sanding on the shoulder pads.

Yeh, I've been using 40 on my dremel. Looks like I should go up a bit higher. ;)
