After a few local cosplay conversions with my 10 year old son he was finding his off the peg halo outfit was no longer cutting it even with the energy sword i had made him. I spoke to some guys there and they pointed me in the Pepakura direction for templates and YouTube for guides on how to build. So my relentless research has finally started into the building process.

First part done, the shoulder/bicep amour. making it at a greatly reduced scale with the 12mm mats has been a bit of a challenge and the paper Pepakura files although very helpfull seem more to complicate things more than it needs to be. Just need to finish off some seams before the plastidip.

Nice work looks simple and clean came out better then mine did, my file was a little complex :/ nice captain America been wanting to do a winter soldier as well as my MKVI. Great job and good luck

Thanks for that.

Ive hit i bit of a wall. Ive finished both biep/shoulders using the paper files but the fore arms arnt working as well. Paper files just wont lend them selves to foam. Ive scoured the downlaods files for foam templates but cant find any. Im not sure of the exact type of armour, the paper files say its MkVI but when i found MkVI foam files there different.

Any ideas?

What MKVI you looking for the halo 2/3 style or the halo 4? See your sons got the halo 4 helmet I'll check my computer later and see what I used for a file mine was for foam

Yes he has the H4 helmet but id opted for the Halo 2/3 armour as i had come across the files first and had a model that i could copy. As ive done the Shoulders already im looking for H2/3 to match. To be honest id go with what ever was easiest even if i have to start again.

Here's a complete H4 Mk VI foam set from the file archive: http://www.405th.com/file-archive.php?do=download&downloadid=1228

If you're happy with how the forearms are already, the differences between the h3 and h4 aren't terribly pronounced especially in a low res foam template.

Thanks for the link. It maybe something ill have to do if i cant get the exact ones. I found a guy on the RPF forum with exactly what im looking for but the templates were never shared.

pmed you I have some early mkvi files edited for foam not sure where I came up with them

Big thanks to S13RRA 117 for getting me the foam version of the files i was looking for. I was a bit deflated thinking i was going to start again with a different armour due to lack of files for the version i was doing but im back on tracking with new enthusiasm.

Im struggling with scaling on the chest piece. Already made one thats too small. Read guides and measured twice but still not right. How does this look for sizing.

The odd thing is its not that much bigger than the one i made that was to small. Think ill make a cardboard mock up this time to make sure.

Both width and height. The one I made was 25 cm across where the picture has been scaled to 29cm.

It wasnt fully finished but you can see its to narrow.
