Hey there 405th! I'm new to the forums and from the last week or so that I've been going around I must give everyone credit at what you have done. A bit about me: I have been a Halo fan since day one and wanting to make armor for a few years now just never knew how to go about. Lately though I have been big into an anime/movie called Appleseed and Appleseed Ex Machina. My girlfriend and I were planning to go to Otakon in Baltimore next year and my idea is to make the armor from that movie.

For an example go here -------> http://www.razorfine.com/images/uploads/Appleseed_Caps.jpg
Or here for a quick video of my idea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yitJILQoKNE

(the second one from youtube is really a better idea...at 1:55 to 2:00 (in the video) is what i think would be absolutely amazing if i could pull it off.)

I would obviously be the big guy with the rabbit ears. Heh. Anyway, I was wondering if there is anyone that could give me some help on a few parts because as you can see from the pictures, the eyes aren't exactly the most user friendly, and a few other parts would be pretty flimsy so would need a bit of structure...i think? I have never used Pepakura or fiberglass or anything before so its overall a totally new experience.

Thanks a lot everyone for both taking the time to read this and for any help/insight you may be able to give. Also, thanks to the 405th for being here...SOOOOOO fantastic. Heh, aite, DJ Hoot out!

The mask/helmet thingy looks like it would be totally do-able using the Pep Method. Just be sur eto use the heaviest cardstock for the base build. The fiberglassing stage will totally hold that thing up fairly well. I'm interested to see how this goes (though Ive never seen Appleseed, but Ive heard good things)

And, Welcome to the 405th!

Thanks a lot!

I'm lookin forward to the challenge. Appleseed is an extremely unique movie and the characters are a lot of fun to get to understand. The design is also something not seen much at all so would get a lot of attention (not why I'm doing this whole project but always fun when you get praise for something youve worked hard on.) Just going to need to figgure out the whole system to actually design the PEP and such. Thanks again

Rundown, that would be fantastic! I'm going to give it a shot myself but from your amazing reviews that are coming from many people it wouldnt hurt to have someone elses. I'm in no real rush, just need to have it done by June of 09. Plenty of time for me but the sooner I can get it done the better, ya know? Id rather not get stuck a week from the convention I'm going to and need to make the whole set.
