Hi folks, just wondering if anyone can suggest anything for the following 2 problems...

printer is a lexmark x1160 (all in one type) and card is 200gsm

1st is that at first it was running ok but after about the 23rd sheet being printed it started the habit of taking the sheet down to start printing but then not taking it any further through to actually print, the printer mechenism carries on going left to right etc printing but the papers no carrying on through...

im gonna try and change some of the paper settings as its suppose to handle card and photo paper etc its like its slipping etc so gonna set it to photo paper see if it tries to grip it more...

but thought i'd post incase there are other lex users that could offer some help...

2nd problem is even tho the margins are set to 5mm the minimum it doesnt print all the way at the bottom its actually about cm or so...

could this be related to the paper not feeding correctly?

again any suggestions greatly appriciated... i realise its not the greatest printer in the world but its the one ive gotta use for now lol

cheers people!!!

couple of ideas that might help...

1) how old is the printer... if its a few years old pick up a can of compressed air and give it a good cleaning
2) try loading it with less cardstock at a time. I've heard members on here complain that their printers will jam up if they have more than 5 or 6 sheets of cardstock loaded into it at a time.

Gravity fed printers tend to have a lot less problems with cardstock than the other kinds of printers. By gravity fed I mean the ones that have the paper sticking up into the air at the top, pull the paper down and spit it out at the front of the printer.

hope that helps

thanks guys....

its not that old tbh and its a gravity fed...

at 1st i had 21 sheets in to do the Mark VI HD helmet and it went through great it was when i started to do single print outs of the ones it missed the bottom off of...

i will try different paper settings to see if it'll help and i'll try with about 8 sheets in and give it a whirl

like i say the paper feeds in with the initial take in, its once it starts printing it doest get take through.. i think the rollers dont grip the paper enough...
