here i'm going to post some pics of my process at this point and a some tips for easier construction.
ok here we go. first what i do is bust out my trusty yellow crayon and drew the outline of what ever peice i was cutting. in this case heel section of the boot.

then i would just score the outline of my piece. not trying to cut all the way through just a clean strait score line.

after that i would just, bend the plastic along the line so that it snaps. and there ya go a clean line(mine might be a lil crooked but you get the point:lol) now all you have to do is run you blade through a thin layer of plastic. this should cut back on blade related injuries and give you better looking lines (no pun intended)

after cutting everything out i have this

then drilled holes in the pieces then pop riveted (aluminum good, steel bad) them into the snake guards

after that i slapped on a coat of paint to see what it would look like, ill be adding several more plates to the shoe area later today to fill some gaps and whatnot.
color is way off in this pic( i blame the camera on my phone)

this is it thus far. i removed the arc reactor because im gonna upgrade mirror that reflects the leds. as for the helmet..ohwell we will just call it "battle damaged" ,lol for a first pep this hemlet isnt too bad. since these pics were taken, the helmet fell and cracked pretty bad in the back youll see in later pics. hopefully a buddy will be sending a extra helmet that he had pepped lying around. with that said, the suit looks more filled out when worn. the curved peices on the side plates use the pressure from the ab plates straps to curve the side plates( i hope that makes sense) .

anyways here ya go.

moving on, heres a pic of the back of the boots so far. i need to ad another plate to the back. edit: need to touch up the paint still.

all thats left for the boots at this point is the knee guards.

ok so i went ahead and made a few templates for the knee area out of scrap pep paper. and taped them up on what i have for the boot already. the pics are kinda washed out but you get the idea.

heres some pics of how i get em on. theres a button snap on the top corner of the back flap of the snake gaurd. also notice the velcro, thats there to hold the plates down on the side that opens.

Looks pretty great for a first suit dude! Keep up the great work, cant wait to see this thing done and put on! :)

Hey... went to the link you gave at the start of all this, but when I went to download the templets, it said that they are not available anymore... do you know where I can still find them or...?

Wow, some nice work there... And I never would have thought of using a trashcan for the base plastic.

Props to Fett.

I had a question about the base you used on your boots. What type of guard was that? I don't know what a 'snake guard' is, but it looks like it would be useful for my project as well.
