Question about card stock?

Okay, I'm making an ODST helmet, and I have a question about cardstock paper. I have a feeling I know the answer to this, but why not ask anyways. The only 110lb card stock I have available ATM is black. Would that work for Pepakura, or do I need white/a brighter color? If not, I DO have orange and light green 65lb cardstock, but it may not work. If THAT doesn't work, would it be reasonable to print the Pepakura design out onto printer paper, and then trace it out of the black card stock? Just a few random (possibly dumb) questions. Thanks for reading!!!

The only issue with black paper would be seeing the lines and numbers. Other than that, there is no reason at all that black paper wouldn't work. I've seen people use multi colored card stock before.

So, would you recommend me printing out on the black paper anyways, or should I print onto printer paper, and then cut out onto black paper? The hard part about the latter would be figuring out where exactly to fold.

You could, in theory, change all of the lines in pepakura to a bright color or white and then print it on the black card stock. I think transferring the lines from standard computer paper would be far too labor intensive though. Your best bet is probably just to go and get some white or grey 110 card stock.

I would suggest buying white cardstock for sure. I think it will be tough for white ink to show on black paper and might be hard to see some details. Hope this helps!

This theory of Rooster's sounds very intriguing. The white fold lines on black paper might just possibly be the easiest fold lines to see ever. If you do this please post a pic of the printout I'm interested to see what it would look like.
