Sorry for the double post but I've just got a few more pics of some 'almost' finished pieces. I wasn't too sure if the green was going to come out ok, I was worried that it was going to be too shiney and/or the wrong shade of green but I think it resembles the ingame MC green quite well.
I've used Adams painting technique and it worked really well.

Thanks again to Spase for coming up with the goods. This is really a great helmet, I recommend it highly to anyone who is thinking of getting a pull of his.

Apologies again for the double post. I guess it's my way of sticking it to 'the man' ;) :p
Almost finished now with the bulk of the work.
Nearly all painting, masking off, repainting, weathering and strapping is done. There's just the more fiddley things left like the duel visor, light/fan rigging and padding ect.
A few piczors for you

An almost finished Spase helm:

and one set of almost finished Master Chief Chesticles:

It's really nice to see it finally coming together and the work put into it paying off.......it's at least half-way decent I guess.
After this it's going to be onto the undersuit. I'm going to try for a authentic-ish undersuit aswell as I have a friend who's great with a sewing neddle and has agreed to help out.

Looks Great! You really cleaned everything up wonderfully and the paint job pulls everything together beautifully. Now just hurry up and get the helmet completed - then it's time for the show

*Nice Usagi in the background...*

Thanks dude.
I used car spray paints, you should be able to get them in Oz. It's a mixture of the 'Ford Meadow green' and the 'Ford forrest green'.
The forrest green is practically a dark grey and the meadow a light green. I sprayed a light grey primer, then a layer of the Meadow, then a layer of the forrest and then finally a really light 'overspray' of the meadow so that the forrest green still shows through.
Then I just used Adams technique for the weathering.
Hope that helped. :D

Red... sweet painting/detailing job you've done there. Really brings it all together nicely. Having one of Spase's helmets also helps to kick it up a notch, heh. Looks very much like Adam's armour in terms of weathering and what not. Now get the rest of it done so we can see what it all looks like! ;)
