Rescaling formula

Just found out about this rule.

1. Find out your height in inches.
2. Add 4-6 inches to that(If you don't, your armor will not fit)
3. Divide your height by 86. (xx / 86 = x.xxxxx)
4. Take the number you found in step 3, and multiply it by the current scale (usually around 31.9).
5. Go to Pepakura Designer, open the .pdo file, and go to the "scale" and then "scale factor".
6. Enter the number you found in step 4 in the "scale" box.

Does this apply to every piece?
Im trying to make a hand piece of halo 3 style armor, but it looks massive on my hand. Will that scaling formula work for that or will i need a different one?

This is not rocket science. Personnaly, I never use any formula. In Pepakura Designer (on the bottom right), it shows the height and width of the finish model. Take a ruler and measure the width of your hand. Apply the width in Pepakura Designer to rescale.

HaloGoddess has one of the best tutorial. As a general rule, please use one of the sticky to ask questions like this. Don't start a whole new thread.

He's right. It really isn't. I've noticed that some of the better suits were not scaled by a formula but more of a "measure body part and do a number close to" method in pepakura.
