resin warping pepakura

my dad is helping, and he said we need to reinforce the helmet and all this stuff before we resin it(deadric helmet from skyrim) i have it built from 110 lb cardstock with hotglue for the joints, do i actually need to reinforce it? or will it warp?

It's a good idea to reinforce. One thing you can do to prevent warpage, whether or not you reinforce, is applying resin to only a portion of the helmet, letting that cure, then a bit more to another portion, letting that cure; continue that until the entire helmet has a coat of resin, then apply a second coat over the entire helmet. The main reason peps warp during resin is because the resin soaks into the paper, disrupting the structural integrity while the resin is still wet. By limiting the amout of wet paper at any given time, you'll decrease the risk of warpage.

ok, thanks! is there an easy way im missing to reinforce it for resining? i dont see how i can reinforce the inside of the horns, its not like i can reach up there.

Yeah, the horns would be a bit problematic. You may not be able to reinforce them very well. Your best bet is to reinforce what you can, then apply resin to the horns last (after applying resin to the rest of the helmet and letting it cure), and hanging the helmet so the horns are sort of positioned naturally so they don't droop while the resin is wet. Luckily, the horns on the daedric helmet aren't quite as drastic as the default iron helmet.

alright, what i was planning to do. i was wondering, if i did it in sections would it really be nescessary? like would things droop, or anything?
