I had meant to post this all before, but for DragonCon 2023 I wanted to do a Silver Team Master Chief (Master Cheeks) from the Paramount+ series. I got to march in the parade with the rest of the 405th and participate in their photo shoot that afternoon. I used the 3D print files from Moe Sizzlac on Thingiverse that my wife LadyTano used a couple years ago for her build and scaled them up to my size using ArmorSmith. It was all printed on an Ender 5 using PLA, except the helmet which was a Jazwares helmet we repainted.

I'll be posting a video online too, just gotta finish the voiceover for parts.

I had to split most of the files up to fit the print bed, and piece them back together. I'd use super glue to put the pieces together, followed by bondo to fill in the seams. Later I got an accelerator pen for the super glue which helped out a lot. Not having to hold the pieces together until they dried is great, but the near-instant adhesion meant I had to get it right the first time. For some of the wider gaps in the prints, I bought a cheap 3D print pen off Amazon and used extra PLA I had laying around to fill the gaps and give it more strength.

After the bondo dried, I'd use filler primer for a couple coats before sanding it down.

After sanding them down, I'd give them a couple coats with Rustoleum Oregano spray paint. After that dried, I used your basic Olive green and black acrylic paint from Michaels and applied with sponge brushes in a dabbing pattern, giving it more of an armor texture and look

I've seen your build in all the pictures from Dragon Con and your build looks fantastic!

Great job with the paint layering.

Those files are great, right? Easy to scale and print! But the paint job must say is superb

Weathering looks solid! How was strapping that whole thing together?
Not bad! I used a mixture of nylon webbing and elastic webbing with the basic clips as well as the parachute clips (which are awesome, I wish I had learned of them sooner). I got a basic black H-harness off Amazon from Blackhawk! and used an old police patrol web belt. The thigh is attached to the belt, and the shins are attached to the thigh.

The back and chest piece go together with a parachute clip on the top and a nylon webbing clip on the bottom. The parachute clip works out great on the top part with the elastic, as it allows the chest to move as i breathe, and its lower profile and easy to clip and unclip for where its located.

I'll have this demonstrated better in the video.

The files are super easy to scale and adjust for print beds, and the detail is great. Its wonderful that he puts them up for free on thingiverse!

Still working on the video for the build, looks like its gonna be a two part video now. I thought I had everything done, and it turned out I had hardly scratched the surface lol

That paint job is immaculate! How do you plan on doing the undersuit?
