After few Hours of cutting and glueing, i got the Lower Torso and Handschields finished for hardening.

But, befor i do that, how do you Guys mounting the Handshields on the Gloves? How you put on the Lower Torso and Chest? I cant get in directly, well, i think, that can no one. Do you cut that Parts into two Pieces and put them some Fast-Locks ore something on?

Easy, straps.

Cut the front chest from the back chest piece, velcro those together. Strap legs together behind your knees, and connect the thighs on the sides to the crotch piece. Crotch piece to the chest, arms just strap together like the legs. Everything is velcroed at the ends too, to ensure they can come off easy. Snaps will work too rather than velcro.

Here's a pic of my suit strapped, the velcro is strong enough to hold the weight and movement.

Hey Frost, I have a question, on the lower legs, how to where them? Do you step into them like a boot or are they two pieces and they fit around the leg?
That is a great suit!

Thanks

I wear them like pants. It's easier for me to just strap it together when off, and lay down and pull it carefully like it was a pair of paints. Then I cant bend over as well in the armor so I can just unhook the velcro and take it off piece by piece faster. I wear the legs/crotch first because it isnt as easy to move around when you have huge arms.

is there any other way to cut the chest so you could put it on to make it look more like one solid piece or do you have to cut it in half?

If you can take your head off your shoulders, you can keep the chest piece 1 piece. But since no one can do that, you will need to make the chest and back two pieces, even Adam does it. His painting video shows his front chest and back chest strapped together.

Most people are using straps, but I think using velcro would better and be more comfortable. I have seen pictures of the strapping, but I would like to see pictures of the velcro in use. I would like to use velcro when I finish my armor, but at this point I'm not sure yet.

All who use velcro fail.

We all learned from our faliure. Mr. Gravity likes to detach velcro over time, even if sewed to the undersuit. The only way to ensure armor on your body for good for a long period of time is strapping. The straps can use velcro/snaps, but just pure velcro on the body will not work.

When you totaly use Velcro you definitly cant walk in that Suit very good, Straps are rly better.

Now theres my Helmet not far away from Finish, how do you Guys mount the Visor? I got a old Bike-Visor, but that is a little to wide, Heat can adjust that, but how fix that Visor into the Helmet?

i was kinda curious about mounting other parts than the chest too. i was thinking you could just buy soft foam and stuff the sidewalls of the forearms, biceps, shins, and thighs. you could try stuffing it so much that it'd basically be "squeezing" onto your limbs. but now that i think about it while i'm writing, would the sheer weight of the armor pieces just weight it down that they'd slip off none the less?

I used industrial strength velcro for my straps, but before I knew about straps, velcro was the only way for me to keep it on my body, and it kept falling off, it made halloween impossible, just standing outside and handing out candy was too hard, I had to take everything except the torso, crotch and helmet off. Now with straps, I can DANCE! and be safe and not worry about them falling off.

Frost speaks the truth, only use Velcro for very small light pieces, so pretty much only the hand plate. you want straps and rivets.

I would use elastic straps for hand plates, hot glue the ends to the inside of the hand plate, and wear it arounf your hand, it works better and is more secured. But velcro will also work, make sure you sew the velcro onto the glove if you use it. Other wise straps will be good. Both are cheap, your choice.

Also.

6 feet of elastic straps cost 2 dollars at walmart (or 99 cents a yard at a fabric store) (get half a inch wide straps)

6 feet of velcro will cost 6 dollars to 10 dollars.

Elastic works the best compared to velcro.

Thanks everyone for the advice! Thats what I needed to know! I'm still working on my armor anyway. I went back and remade some more detailed pcs
