UPDATE
The new helmet is nearly finished, with the backpack probably around 80% done. College Exams are coming up so I may not finish them as fast as I wanted.... :(

cant wait to see the new helmet :D
I'm gonna start on my space marine armour in a few weeks. Ill be scratch building most of it.
thor, your still selling them? i might be interested depending on price. sent you a PM.

I'm printing off the helmet now, I'm hoping to have it fiberglassed and started bondo by the end of the weekend.
Ill start at a wip when i have something to show :D
Many thanks for the making the file TrintLord

Just to prove I am doing something ;)

Who can tell me the differences! :D

NOTE: I split the helm because it is easier to work on one side and then just mirror it over to make the other. If anyone has any suggestions please post them.

EDIT: Who likes the tubes on the helm? On some of my marines I notice they have side vents instead of tubes. Who would like that instead? or should I make another version with that?

EDIT2: Ok did a bit more for today.

No more edits today....I promise.....

I'd recommend leaving out the hoses. They're hard to build from paper and can easily be added later using other materials (such as hoses for example). I'd also recommend leaving the grill out of the mouth area. If you just make it smooth it'll be easy to create the grill look using strips of whatever's handy after the pep model is built.

Otherwise, the model is looking great. Can't wait to actually start building one of these.

I have taken the hose and made it 12 sided as opposed to 24 sided. I am working on the vent version now. The beaky is also nearly done.

The grills are easy enough to remove for now and can be added later, probably with plasticard or dowel rods.

MAJOR UPDATE!

I finished all three helmets!
First the original:

Anyone willing to unfold?

lol... i nearly finished the first model and better ones come out... damn it!
i think the beaky model needs some tweaking, but otherwise, VERY good work :D thanks heaps for these!!

box o crayons: I will send you the files for unfolding

p0rtalman: sorry for helping :p

The beaky is still being worked on, I have tried three different versions and this looked the best. I may see if I can create a cone and then just alter it from there, but cones are difficult to make in sketch-up....

hey Trint excelent work on the Three Space marine helms i like the idea the 1st and second can be customised at the frontal part, The beaky i'm a bit unseure i thought the eyes were on the side slightly more and the cone extended from a higher point on the helm and extended out further and was more angular from the bottom. Sorry to seem rude or harsh but i love the attempt. I can understand it must be hard to do me and a friend are converting 40k into Pep files... We are doing Chaos, Eldar, and Imperial Guard. :)

Regards

Venom

You should come over to Legions of 40K, pep for IG, Eldar, and Chaos would be sweet! :D

Also on the beaky the eyes are in the same place as the other helms, I thinks it just the angle.

Alright it seems the .kmz files I have been sending out do not work right, not sure why. As such I will be sending out the .skp files which will have to be exported to another file type that works with PD.

smilie120: sending them via email

box o crayons: sending via pm links

Oh! If I get the sketchup file I could weld all the open edges for you if you wanted :)

Still working on the chest piece for Space Marines. The chest is proving difficult because of the scaling issue. I need to come up with a way of making the armor look like it has the broad shoulders of a space marine, but fit on a normal person....

Here is what I want one day:

These guys made some awesome Black Templar suits, and after asking them sent me a "guide" on how they did it. Instead of making the chest from pep as originally planed I may try to make the templates for their armor which is cut from plywood (or similar material) and then covered in insulation foam and fiberglass.

Thoughts?

i@trintlord:
like that idea :)
ive seen the guide myself (although i might have an older copy, i got it over at bolter&chainsword), and was considering giving it a try but....well....without some sort of template to follow, im lost when it comes to making "things", especially out of wood.

if you can come up with templates however, id be willing to give it a try, heck, i might even be willing to do a get-togther for a group build of some sort if your on my side of the country

on other news: im still waiting on getting my camera back, but once it is i'll get some more detailed pics of my ig armor set online, anyone have any specific detail requests of it? (its chest armor, shoulders, as well as the kasrkin leg armor, helmet, and some hanging plates)
