Space Marine Pep Models (update Post #29)

Mid Eastern US?

Well after stating that the chest it hard it now looks like something . BUT I will still make the templates just for fun.

Your armor looks pretty good, though I might expand the chest piece a bit further down, probably to around 3-4" above the belly button.

(To those wondering there is a pic of his armor at the Legions of 40K site.)

Once you do get your camera I would love to see some of the weapons you have made!

heh, to be fair, on a normal sized person the ig armor looks pretty good, unfortunatly im a 6'9" or so monster, and my height even took teh armor-maker by surprise. the maker of it is named Spat (spatcave.com is his sight), he may or may not be making the sets aviable for purchase, i dont know youd need to ask him

as for guns, again i didnt make any of them really, a resin-casting god by the name of matsucorp(matsu?matt?) made the lasguns and grenades, But im pretty sure he is making those for sale (again ,youd really need to contact him).


thoughts on spacemarine armor: really it can be handled both ways, either pep like normal, fibreglass, bondo etc, Or do the woodframe, foam, etc to it. they both have thier pros and cons. but from a materials standpoint, id lean towards peping to keep not just costs down, but weight as well

thirdly, mid-estern us? that desribes my state (virginia, just get on I-81, and follow the banjo music)


edit> weeellll....i might have made a few weapon-ish things. ive got a pair of servoskulls (forever wip) that light up, and a pair of shockmauls (which are badly in need of a repaint) you can see the skulls in the hands of the onlu two NOT ig in this pic here (both were techpriests, only decent pic i have of them, i helped do reserch and design for thier costumes as well Group pic

edit2> its funny, that pic was from dragon, during our time in costume, it was orngially the 10 of us in IG suits, One officer, and two techrpiests, During the course of hte day at any one time we had between 1-3 commissars attach themselves to teh group, and a pair of iniquisters show up

On the pep chest I am adding a low detail two-headed eagle emblem. Any more detail can be added with bondo and resin.

yup, everything made by spat and matsu (in fact, both spat AND matsu are in that pic somewhere. matsu is the officer, while spat is a guardsmen in front of the techpriests, the one standing, on the left, with the mustache/beard)


on the pep: chest eagle= good, but could it be made so it could be optional? i kinda dig the plainchest with skull center myself (well....heck thats not true, i also like the mkIII, and mk IV as well)

Haven't added the eagle yet, so I will make that a variant.

wow! spat is still around? awesome. hes made some really nice things back in the early 2000's in NYC. his aliens stuff rocks, as well as his slave leia.

anyway....cant wait.

yup spats still around,
he still makes and sells his aliens armor, as well as pulse rifles and accessories,
if anyone wants to meet him, he will be the master of cermonies for Shevacon as well he will be doing some workshops about armor making and vaccuforming (very VERY useful info in my book, for any project, but esepcially for something that uses lots of curved shapes)

Jeremy Bulloch will also be at teh con (he's the orginal boba fett)
edit: heh, apperntly spat is a little peeved at me that i didnt let him now that bulloch was attending (at least, thats what i get from a msg he posted on my(neglected) facebook

on the space marine chest; awesome progress, im assuming im looking at one half the chest?, and the rasied part in teh back is part of the marines normal collar? which would make hte white bubble the armhole?

on matsu: ya, all his stuff is just tottally kick butt, heres me with a pair of his pistols from the movie equilibrim (sp?) Matsus pistols


on a slightly-is-related note, im head of gaming for shevacon, and im looking for staffers still if anyone is intrested....

Hey Trint Lord we start tomorrow unfolding Tau costume for a pathfinder. not doing normal soldier. But we doing pathfinder as it has less armour. For now... Soon we will start to get the firewarrior done. I think the weapon we are doing is the pulse rifle though or pulse carbine. Hmm i like the chest nice approach. Yer i saw those huge space marines and there technique to building the chest is quite unique. I will see if i can get my friend to help you with a chest piece. ^^ if all goes well we will have Tau pathfinders ready ^^

I was actually looking into a fire warrior. Hope to see the pathfinder!

Hmmm that image seems a bit crouded hehe on all their armour. We just used DoW models and took them.. Then scaled it to human size and then start the pep making process. Easier if you have DoW and the models. If you want i can get you some SM ones?

Nice work there.. Nope we just used the DoW modding tools.. ^^ you can get the models there and edit them.. Make your own units etc... that sorta thing. My friend decided to be an idiot today and decided to unfold a life size dreadnaught well attempt.. He was mad i tell you.. But he didn't do it in the end. Nah our tau are going to stay simplier compared to that design hehe ^^... i like it an all but just sems too much. The piece im gunna hate is looking out of that helmet with one eye ^.

Ive nearly finished assembling the pep helmet. the original one.
