Hey Guys,

I am from Austria and 18 years old.
I wanna build the Spartan III armor with the Magnum an Assultriffle, the took the files for the armor from http://www.405th.com/showthread.php/24086-*The-Official*-Halo-Reach-Pepakura-Files-Thread ( the first file, the complette armor) but there are only one site of the thighs, forearms an schoulders.

Does anyone of you the other side of the armor, or can I reflect the drawing in pepakura so I get both sites.

I am 177cm high, should i scale it?

Do you fibberglas the insite oder the outside ?! or both.

Sry for my bad English -.-
Thanks, Daniel

hey, love the name dan!!! (it's my name too :)) which type of sIII do you want ot do? there's not much SPI (semi powered infiltration armour, the one used by the majority of the spartan 3 and the ones in the book) files available, but for the mjolnir used by the elite sIII's (the ones in reach) just search halo reach file data base on this site and a few files should pop up for them :p

if you find a few reference pics someone may make you a few SPI files

hope this helped!!

You must scale the whole parts, from the helmet to the shoes.

the best way that i know:
- resin it outside (approx. 3 layers) and the detail of your parts are not lost
- fiberglass mat inside (2-4 layers)

hope this way is usefull for your method.

But how, I am a Greenhorn so I have no experience with pepakura and the "how to" tread link (here on 405th) dont work, klick - Frontpage.

And by thw weapons, there i cant fiberglass the inside. Is there a special trick?!

jea i found a lot of new files but none of them is the Left site of the thighs, forearms oder schoulder.
Is there a trick on pepakura to reflect the drawing to print both sites

Thanks Daniel

Noboby here to help a Greenhorn?!

Next question: Al the files are format: Letter, I need A4. Can i change this in pepakura?!

Hey there Noble_XI, welcome to the 405th. Glad to see you starting on your armor! We're a relatively small community (with even fewer veterans), so it can take a while before someone experienced sees your post. :)

For a great scaling tutorial, check out Xtreme Tactics 101's scaling tutorial. That should give you everything you need.

You can, in fact, easily switch your files to A4. Go up to "Settings" > "Print and Paper Settings". At the top of that panel, you can pick A4. Note that you'll have to reorganize your parts on the page to get them to fit on the taller, slimmer A4.

For fiberglassing weapons, there are a few options, none of them great. Many people decide to build their weapons using different methods for just this reason: It's extremely difficult to get a pep version to come out right (and not warped) without having a lot of pep knowhow and experience. But the main option is to cut your weapon in half lengthways, reinforce each side, and then reattach back together. This can have it's own set of issues, though. Honestly, I recommend scratch building for weaponry.

You CAN switch parts from left to right, because many of them are NOT the same on each side. Go up to "2D Menu" > "Invert Pattern". The 3D version on the left will look the same, but the print out will be a mirror image for the other side of the armor.

Whew! Hope that helped you out some!

the thighs, and the shins, and the forearms, are all the same ;)

Shins are the same, but the thighs, forearms and shoulders aren't the same. Look exactly on the details.

Here is the RIGHT thigh, this is the front of the thigh, with the 2 hols for the LEDs. Only the right site

The same on the shoulders, here the RIGHT site,

will i need for these options the full version ?!, I only use the Pepakura viewer.

You're going to need the Pep Designer but you don't really need the password to use all features. The only thing you can't do when you don't have a password is the the ability to save your work.

@ Flyerfye
Thanks for you informations, very helfuly. Now I know how to reflect the pieces and can print them.

___________

What type of Glue do you use?!

Is here someone who sell weapons?! CNCs?! I am looking for a Assaultrifle, a Battlerifle, a Sniper or a Shootgun.
They look much better than the pepakura weapons.

hey guys, its me.

my First pepakura projekt, (Halo Reach Magnum) the pepping prozes is 80% finished.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

My next step ist, to resin (make it harder) the weapon with 2-4 layers. After resin i will cut the weapon in two pieces and make a plaster or silicon form, I dont know witch is the best. After i get my forms from both sites i will fiberlass them an glue the 2 pieces to one. Tada - My first weapon ( i hope i works like i want )

Hey guys iat me too,

is my thread so boring, because nobody post :p

Magnum pepp is finished

Meanwhile, I did a test with a grenade to try if it works with the plaster imprint

hope you like it.

ya know, most of us pick something considerably easier for our first pep........and yours still looks awesome. (you're making us all look bad. lol) pistol looks great dude.

Plaster test with the Granade has worked.

I will do the same thing with the Magnum.

1. Step: Wrapp the Grenade with (Vaseline, fat, cream)

2. Step: Fill the plaster into a mold and put the grenade into the half

3. Step: Let i try an put the granade out of the plaster ( you get your mold )

4. Step: Fiberglass the insite of the mold. Let it try and put the finishes fiberglass out.

Do this with both sites an glue the 2 sites together. Sanding and varnishing.

PICs comming soon.

Nice pep worke !i also build a noble six and I am also from Austria !
If you need help write a pm ore add me to skype (in german its easyer !)

Hey guys Noble here,

I fiber glassed my Reach Pistol und start to sand it, there is just one problem. The more I sand, the more it loses Stability. So I have to fiberglass it again an sand a little bit less.

Here is my Helmet with 2 Layers resin und the Visor is fiber glassed - 1 Layer. I have filled the Details with the resin (sec. pic).

Has anyone a good template/pic of Noble XI, for Scaling ?! I have only a pic were he is running.

If I want to send someone a message I get this message
