Nice work. Hope you enjoy PAX as well
that is true, I have been going back and forth on what to fix and what to leave. there are a few dents that i could fix but it would almost require rebuilding a area out of bondo. I plan on casting and pulling a resin copy so I can fix some things with a heatgun and proper physical persuasion. That's looking good. But, remember: sometimes a pesky dent will better serve your helmet as battle damage rather than smoothing it.
That looks pretty cool! awesome!
Thank you! I really appreciate it, I have learned a whole lot during this whole process and I look forward to my next one.Wow. Great job on this build man! I'm always impressed by good mold work.
Ya I may have to do that, right now I am building a quick vacuum form rig to see if I can get at least one good one in time but i am having difficulties right now, need a better way to heat the plastic. I am going to try and go to the thrift shop tomorrow and see if I can get a cheap toaster oven to use.Nice mold! When in doubt, you can always use a temporary visor for Boston, then create a proper one afterwards. Keep it up!
well for the base all I really did was make a wood box with holes in it that my shop vac can plug into, then I made two little frames to sandwich the plastic between. really the issue is coming down to heating the plastic properly.Exactly how complicated is it to make a small vac-form rig? I somehow always assumed it was a bit on the troublesome side.
ya it does have that Halo 2 feel to it, was a simpler time hahaFor what its worth, I think your stopgap visor looks really good, albeit more like the Halo 2 era ODSTs than the ones we know and love today.
