So i was wandering around my local dollar tree store, and i found these neat LED booklights that look like you can just cut off the mount stem and mount into your helmet, no mods necessary.

At the 2 inch mark in the photo, there is a silver ring, where the light separates, and loads its batteries. this ring is removable, and acts like a spacer. If you needed more space (because your helmet wall is thicker) you could shave some off the LED housing after the spacer because it has few extra thread twists to it. The on switch is the silver cone in th back, not sure if you could rewire that but why bother, you just have to stick your finger inside the helmet to hit it, not that hard, imo.

And when you factor in the fact that IT COSTS A DOLLAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i thought that perhaps someone else might want to go buy them. enjoy!

I have two of these at home. I'm sorry to say that they break very easily when all together. I plan on buying a couple, removing the leds, and re-wiring them. Just a note to any potential buyers.

Yes, they are incredibly bright for their size. i have a 3 d-cell mag light, and this is almost as bright. four of these would definitely be brighter.

As far as breaking, i field test everything i make with my toddler. So far she has played with one of the lights for 2 days and its still working fine. they do protrude from the helmet a bit much though, any suggestions on how to fix that?
