I just finished it myself. I personally feel that Tobias did an excellent job on this. It kept me turning pages (until I had to go to work) and left an open ending for many more books (IMO). Post your thoughts on it. Tell us what you think about the book and how it fits in with the other books.

I haven't finished yet, but I like these new spartans. They seem completely different than the other spartans. And I like the Mk. IV armor. And I can't believe they put the Arbiter in the main stroyline, something they should have done in Halo 3. :cautious:

:Edit:

And what I mean by '"the main storyline", I mean not becoming Master Chief's "sidekick". :cautious:

Ive tried so hard to get it but every time I get money I either have to buy grocieries for my parents or I cant go by the mall to get it but I have plans to get it tommorrow and I wil read it at my wrestling tournament.

I agree, I want to know and I hope Nylund writes the book that tells us.

I have mixed feeling about the book. I like the Spartans Tobias introduced us to and I liked seeing a younger Keys. I liked the fact that he used the term Magazine instead of the damning Clip. I also liked seeing more of the Elites and there traditions.

What I didn't like was the lack of dates at the beginning of each chapter. At times the action seemed slow to me. I think Eric Nylund could have wrote it better IMO.

I was actually coming home from new york after a thanksgiving holiday, and found it in the bookstore in the airport, so I bought it and boy was it good! I got to part 2 and had to stop cause school started again after the break, I wanna finish it so bad but I just don't have time! Gah! Must find time!

And also, who else is digging that sexy handplate on the cover? I sure would like a pep file of that!

I like how these spartans have different personalities from Master Chief, and the rest of the spartans. But I wish he put more accurate timeline into the the begining of each chapter. :cautious:

got the book monday, finished it yesterday. definitely more of an eric nylund fan. this new writer is good, but i still enjoy the detail and technical terms that nylund uses. also tobias seems to be trying to copy nylunds style of switching back and forth between the main groups of characters, but just cant seem to get the flow of it down. it was a good book, i just agree that eric could have done a much better job.

I'd say this is less a book about the SPARTANs, and more about Keyes and some other random Joes... which annoys me slightly, but I'm happy enough knowing more about Keyes' past.

Agreed I am glad I am not the only one to get that vibe as well.
