Wow, I can't believe I just made it through 53 pages of posts....
Anyhoo, I just thought I'd say that all of this sounds pretty fantastic (not that you need my approval).
But I have a few questions, such as:
1) When 405th launches, does the Mjolnir Armor forums (which is now the 405th forums) become member only and/or disappear?
2) I saw a while back everyone was making a fuss about the Spartan - 117 ID for a member. If you guys plan on having an honorary member (insert bungie person here), why not give them that ID to make it a distinguished title that people don't fight over?

Thats a fantastic idea... we should keep that in mind as we approach Bungie and MS.

My vote would be for Jason Jones to get the -117 tag, with other important/recognized/head/whatever Bungie personnel (Luke, Lars, Frankie, et all) receiving the tags of the so-far named Spartans.
Although all the Voice Actors may break that mold, since I'd assume we'd /tag 'em as the characters they voiced.

Yikes, just read through all 53 pages also. This is looking great. If you guys need help with the badges or patches, I do some graphic design and such. I also agree with Link on the name of the site www.UNSC-405th.com, I think it sounds more professional and not piggybacking on the 501st as much, but either way I'll just be extremely glad to see this whole thing fall together piece by piece. On another note, I personally, would love to see "UNSC 405th Infantry Official" on the Bungie main page some day

We can just get numbers by when we join. Kinda like the number system in Halo 3. Like Adam could be 001 and so on. Or you would be allowed to choose and it would be on a first come, first serve basis. But we'd have to block off some numbers like 117 and 104 and such.

I mean people are going to be named by when they join the 405th. They aren't just going to be transferred over to being a member, they have to be judged on their armor and accepted.
PS. An idea I just thought of to keep intelligence high in the group, we should all have to write a letter of what it means to be a part of the UNSC or something.

I read the Topic... and I AM willing to post... a collective idea of all of the topics... in one single.. draft.. would any one... be willing to agree to terms.. CIVILY and IF Adams.. agreed we could use it as the base..because I have alot of ideas... ... and... I think this is a wonderful idea...
53 pages later (and I should have joined when I first found the site, suggestions would have beeen more timely)
instead of embroidering the 405th patch with Region & Affiliation, put them on cheverons and rockers which can be placed above and below the main patch. This would also allow someone to display a list of the armor they have completed and registered with the unit.
screen print the patch on plastic and attach them with magnets, or use paldrons or sashes (I know, not canon, but it'd work). Or, once everything's ironed out, crafters can make the shoulder (or parts of the shoulder) replaceable; giving the wearing the option to show their 405th alignment.
Have a high initial ($25 or 30$) and a low annual ($5 or $10)
Use poker chips for give aways, they can be custom printed and you can carry a lot of them (my brother does them for geocaching)
If you want to be somewhat military, it should be a pair of dogtags (yes, that is what it shows in the pics, but that is not what is being stated)

just some thing that brings up all that pages.. before.. for noobs.. wanting to understand this topic... and... may also ... be used to make this group idea work...btw any thing is able to change...
CORE ideas...
the Spartans... and Marines.. Fight together... as a team... no is man left behind...
you should pay member ship and have armor.. to show up... but if you are a memeber.. and not wearing your armor.. your a civy in the eyes of the regiment...
Large groups... not stats..not yet at least... we have an ideal group of 50 if any thing.... so at the moment... we should have it focused... as major group where we go to one focused con for sure..and... like.. example... we will all go to Dragon..con.. and your friends..in your city go to ... a local con... ... (BTW i mean... friends in armor.. not just any one... members..)... i think that this will form.. a leadership of regions.. or con focused groups... and if need be later... state side but for now.. .one large focus should be ideal...

so for the younger... if they have ... Family there or... a parent.. over the group... the 405th shouldn't baby sit...kids... and its should be called.. the Spartan III program or something.....

I think for most people... it should be... like you get what ever number you want thats available...in the range... we decide on... this avoids people fighting over numbers or trying to get a number... they just get what they can... this works..for most people i think since some people wouldn't care..but I would... I want 043 for my xbl account is G043R.... and its kinda.. a personal thing... and I think it would look kool for the new members to see the wall of people with armor.. surrounded with numbers MIA ...it would go well with the spartan... plot..

I think most people focus on makin the chief's armor..so i think that... we should... avoid detachments... it makes.. the group cut up to much... ..if its out of hand later..we can..but... for now.. I am sugjestiong... that we avoid...
