Hey Blue, you could get the COG's but they WOULD NOT be applicable for the 405th. You would have to have a 405th set to have applicability, remember this is a Halo group not a Gears of War group.

I'm not trying to single you out, I just want you to realize, the patch would be your ID when you wear your armor and that would set you apart from the rest of the non - ID'd groups that do Halo out there.

Those groups would wonder why you have that patch, they would then ask...you would tell....and they would have interest in joining the 405th.

That's how it usually works.

Now,

At comic-con or at a convention for instance.

The 501st, ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS. has a booth set up for questions, and whatnot

I would like us to try and always get someone out there to represent the 405th.

We could have a 405th UNSC booth, and then have items we give out.

Secondly, the 501st has cards...trading cards.

Each card is different

Lets say you have Clonetrooper armor and Darth Vader,

you take pics of both, and submit to the 501st and they will photoshop in a background of you wearing your armor and put it on a "trading card"

Then they send you about 500 cards, on those cards is you, with the helmet on/and with it off. Then in little bubbles on the side are pics of your other costumes...(small pics)

Your contact info is on the card:

Your telephone number.
Your email
Your name
Your state and city
And your costumes

And places you've "trooped in" in your costume

for instance

Fitzgerald Lewis
703-944-4264
SithBanshee2020@yahoo.com
Fairfax Station, Virginia
Clone Trooper, Jango Fett, Clone Commander, Scout Trooper, Scout Specops Trooper...etc...etc

Comic-Con
Star Wars Celebration 4
Celebration Europe
Etc..etc

Also on these cards is your detachment/regiment

Now the reason they have the cards is so you can give them to the public.
To get the word out, and to develop interest.....trading cards ALWAYS look official. That is why the 501st does that..

I have hundreds of these cards.
I could scan up some and post them here if needed.
trading cards were too cool for that. we should hand out cardboard outlines of assault rifles =p
but why should we copy them?

Yes the booth is a great idea, but i just think the cards would be more $$$ and too much of a hastle, and we don't want to copy everything that the 501st has, or we could get in trouble

Doesn't necessarily have to be cards...but something that we could give out that would represent us that would be a great collectible item possibly..?

Instead of cards, how about flyers or pamplets or stickers and so on and so on....

I would get my standard 405 tags, but if anyone know where or how to get some, I would like to get some COG tags.

once we have it started and get some experience we could do things like that, but until then i think we should keep it simple with the dog tags, patch, and stencil/decal

We should have our numbers: Spartan D-001 or whatever, plus a designated call sign:

The call sign would be our membership/forum name too. Patches are very nice. We'd need to do patches for soft material, and stickers for armor.

The card thing sounds like an idea, but like fallen said, we have to be careful of what we do :lindsey: .

Try Nightmare Armor, I heard that since they made the Gears armor, they also made the cogs.

Go here to contact : www.nightmarearmorstudios.com

Now for the collectible stuff, maybe we could give people a customized pen that has the 405th logo on it and the website?

Maybe also develop a manual on crafting pepakura armor...405th style?
- We could give these out with the pens...

And once tutorials are up, craft an advanced manual on how to craft plastic/abs/fiberglass armor? - But to get this one they would have to join the 405th.

I like these ideas , But once I get a job, I'll pay, I think a yearly fee would be better for us though, like Xbl, cheap, easy, and Awesome :D

off topic my pepakura foot looks small how do i tell?

No more off topic posts in this thread Leading Spartan.
Go to the correct forum to ask those questions.

- THE MODS

on topic cog tags? btw our tags should be different color depending on rank like captain=blue regular=black you know no yearly fees please

Umm...I remember Darkesword asking for a waving UNSC flag awhile back, and since no one else did it, I decided too.

I have no idea why it's leaving a trail when it waves, it was perfect before I uploaded it.

I like the idea not to have yearly payments, but the color idea...I kinda doubt it.

Nice flag! We should carry it at events.

I think a yearly payment like XBL would be better, just so we always have a steady stream of money coming in, but it's cool if we don't. It really doesn't matter to me what kind of payments we do.

Wow... That looks great

I have an idea, how about people have an option, Like paying monthly for less or paying a more but its for the whole year, and would sending money through the mail work? cause I don't want to use a credit card :eek
