Hello,After working with Fallen I am looking to put in a "mass production" order for these Turtle Rack as seen at HOD turtle racks. This will come with the shelving option pictured on the forums AND a 2nd rifle rack (the curvy section on the left). So this will be semi modular.
  1. Important this is NO deliver member hand off only (i will hand it off to someone at Cleveland gaming classic Cleveland Gaming Classic Info and Roll Call: September 19-21, 2025 to hand off to you).
  2. You are paying for materials only. I have access to an industrial CNC and will be cutting them off.
  3. Depending on the vote for what material's to make this out of it will cost between 30 and 60$ each (30$ if we use 1/2in pine plywood or 60$ if we use 1/2 MDF I am open to other options).
Attached is a picture of exactly what parts you will receive.
Here is a google form where you can fill out an order. Turtle racks order
My production plan, Take orders, get votes on wood material to use (majority rules), paint sheets with primer (help welcome community paint day?), cut on CNC, paint edges, wrap, and transport to CGC.I am doing this as a bulk setup to maximize time and resource efficiency. If you have any recommendations or questions feel free to ask.
I am making two to donate to my unofficial regiment (Great Lakes)

Let me know if you have any questions.

I have no idea how to close a thread but this does look cool. I hope you decided on ply rather than MDF given how bad MDF swells with moisture in my experience.

The vote was MFD, We were also told by construction excerpts that MFD is the better choice for this project.

These were actually designed for 1/2" paint grade birch plywood. I should know. I am the originator of these for HOD. Any changes to material should have the finger joint dimensions adjusted accordingly as these are made to go together with no tools.

I know you did. but the group buying them, as well at the professional wood manufacturers im buying the wood through. all said MDF. its also like 35% cheaper.
Just wanting you all to be informed. Whomever is doing t he CNC work will need to examine the files for material thickness to ensure they can be slotted together AFTER paint as this will add material thickness to joints

I hope they work out. I am by no means a professional just my own personal hobbyist woodworking experience and its love hate relationship with MDF =)
I was also on team plywood till my contacts came back and told me it would be 30% more expensive for the bad plywood even.

I HATE the dust that MDF makes and how heavy it is. but the edges will be solid and not have gaps which will be nice.

I will be cutting 1 prop and testing the fittings before i cut the rest of them.
