UNSC Armored Reconnaisance Commando

Well, I've decided to start my first suit. I was thinking of Ideas for it yesterday night, and thought it would be cool to make a marine suit that looked like something from the early days of the UNSC. This would mean it would have to look fairly modern, but still look somewhat like Halo Marines/Troopers. I wrote down a list of the components Taking up the suit. Here they are.
Reach forearms
ODST shoulders
Black tactical vest
Woodland camo pants
Reach shin guards
Holster harness/rig around the waist and thigh area
Gray fingerless gloves
Those are the basic components of the suit. Maybe I will make some arm attachments to put on the forearms. Also, should I do a mask? I dont know whether I should make up some kind of mask, or just put on some sunglasses and a OD green bandana around my lower face. I really wanted to do a mask, so could you guys maybe suggest a mask I should do?
 
Sorry guys, I have been busy with other things besides the armor, but I got the mask done. I will get pics up as soon as I can find my camera. I apologize for my inactivity.
 
well i think you could come up with a mix between the marine helmet and a spartan helm.... you know kinda like the early development stages of the full face armor, as far as i know the earlyest armor type that was in the game was the EOD, judgeing from the dates and info givin out in the game itself
 
Thank you for the idea. That sound really cool, actually. Fortunately, I have some pics.
Sorry for the delay, but when I get the pics up maybe you can see how I can improve my helmet to make it more marine/spartan-ish. The pics will hopefully be up tomorrow.
 
Well Halo Wars does take place a little before Reach and the marines in it have some cool armor. The Halo Wars marines also wear face masks like you were thinking of using.
 
i'd put some gill detail on the cheeks like for breathing filters and stuff, as far as the g36 goes i'd pull the forward clip out and go with a back loader since bungie seems to favor bullpups more.... bullpups being the receiver and clip is behind the trigger... like an AUG or Enfeild
 
A good UNSC Army Trooper's helmet would go great with that. Also the allies in reach arent marines. In reach you are working with the UNSC Army. For weapons, maybe even the carbine variant of the MA5 series. Ma5k or whatever it is.

That and a flashlight on the helmet, maybe one of the UA/NX/RA or whatever the utility thing is.

Not to mention maybe even the UNSC trooper chest core, which I know is easy to build in foam.

The TAN guys are the MARINES.

The KAKHI guys are the ARMY


The MA5K is a good low maintinence pepakura weapon to make, it's also awesome in general.
 
Wow, the ma5k looks pretty cool. I cant seem to find a pep file for it. Could you guys help me out with that? As for the bullpup suggestion with my g36, I was actually planning on making it functional in airsoft games and target shooting, so I won't be doing that for a while. But the ODST- style automag I will be working on. I will be putting gills in the mask, that actually sounds really beast.

Garland still has MA5K version 1 and version 2 up on 4Shared I think
 
Alright. I have a great idea.

I have been interested in purchasing a new airsoft gun, and this AUG is the one I was looking at.
What if I inserted this inside the Ma5k model? I think it would be cool to have a working prop.
Tell me what you guys think.
By the way, does anyone know of some good 3d modeling software I could use? I would like to start modeling stuff.

Sorry for the lack of activity guys. School starts Monday on the 29th, so I've been getting ready. Plus, I bought a new computer. I posted a pic of the first shin on my flickr, and I am right now working on the gloves. They're plated, so I am working on that.

I never update anything either. I already finished 2 gauntlets, and the upper leg armor on my MK V a week ago, and still no pics.
