i know there are a lot of threads on waterproofing pepakura projects, but i have to restart my subject delta helmet because it wrinkled last time i coated it with resin, is there anyway to protect it from future layers of resin without making it warp and sag?

make sure you make it out of card and do a thin layer of resin first and then a thick one and then fibreglass it

Be sure to lightly resin it in sections, and only continue after the previous section is dry. bigmumma is right, cardstock seems to be the best as far as warping issues are concerned. Also if there is a little warpage dont be afraid to use a little bondo and some elbow grease. Look forward to seeing your new armor

I suggest using very minimal resin on your first couple coats for the pep piece. Waterproofing/sealing isn't going to save you when you're trying to work with paper products, sorry. You could also try building pep files that have built in supports or are broken up (not empty bubbles). But, people like fast and easy, so the majority of pep files and the popular ones are going to be tough to hold shape while resining.

I don't advocate using paper supports in any pep build. Using paper to support paper, even if it is hardened, will only be so reliable. Use something sturdy to support your work.
