Bungie has propably gone through alot of reference pictures/models from all type of sniper rifles.
It's impossible to say that the weapon was "based of this:..".
From what i see it looks like the barrett and NTW-20 combined. They propably used alot of reference from other weapons too...

And that armor looks nice. I won't say exactly like the in-game armor (you already know this though) but to outside observers, unless they religiously play halo and are some sort of fan-boy hardcore, they will be drooling all over you, especually with the M82.

I am 1/4 owner of a Title 3 Manufacturing Company, based in Salt Lake City, UT.
2.) I carry a gun everyday,its just usually smaller. I am not going to get into the hows and whys, or a politics behind this other then to say it is my duty as a human being to protect myself and other around me from harm. Remember when seconds count, the police are only minutes away.
3. She didn't help with the armor because she was afraid of messing something up, but she supports everything I do.
4. Finnish, I haz belt now. Adam came through in bristol fashion. Belts and boots arrived 31 Oct at 10AM, was a bit of a rush cleaning them up, painting them and mounting them but it was done.
5. Pillowfire, I was relying on the fact that it was : Halloween and no one would even notice so no fuss would be made, and that they would be so blown away by the suits that the subject of the guns never came up. Your basic human being is rather unobservant they tend to not notice the small things in lieu of being distracted by some big thing. and even those that did ask at best asked " Wow is that the sniper rifle?!?!?" to which I would answer "Yes it's a sniper rifle" no need to tell them its a real sniper rifle, if they are under the impression its the one from the game who am I to change their mind ?Selective ommission , your average person doesnt know the difference between a Mark V suit and a SPI suit heh.

Alright, 'cause for some reason, I used to think that the barrett was made for military use only. I didn't know that you could just go out and get one if you had the money. As for the gun itself, are you planning to modify it with cardboard or something? I know it sounds pretty stupid to modify a real gun with cardboard (I wouldn't do it, to be honest), but it would save you the trouble of having to build a new rifle from scratch in the future.

I cant get into your album its marked private.
Now ODST.....I will probabaly cast it, I have 2 weeks off in which to start the sculpts which aren't all that difficult compared to a MC suit. I have talked to Link about one of his casts. I just dont deal with Pep well, I get the "its going to fall apart" feeling everytime I handle a piece, plus its almost impossible to get any kind of symmetry with it. I have a full year to complete the suit by my release date time line ( i am certainly not going to wait that long however)which means I can go good and slow on the sculpts and casting.

Oh yea, haven't put this up yet. Ofcourse the MC suits are my wife and myself. We ran into this little 6 year old boy in a homemade transformer costume that was simply awesome. His dad taken a Large Hummer Remote control car apart used that as the base and went from there. It was very cool, the picture doesnt do it justice.
