Tiles are 12x12 Inch.

Re: Wort! Blarg! Honk! 3D printing a Covi Elite.

Got some updates.
First off. Here is a test of the angle of the feet. Its not as uncomfy as I was expecting.
soles are to be flex plastic !
In between the plates of the faux foot and the shoes I wanna mount to them will be a metal plate to spread the load.

E6000 to be used to bond the faux foot to the plate and the shoes.

Shoes are to be boots or normal shoes. To be decided via the fit of the shins at that time.

Got 2 more parts and the feet are done........

The upper legs are on the printer next...
I wanna morph the chest files to be a tad wider prior to print.

I ve been pondering the mask.
Its not like its imposable but I want to make it look as real as I can as its the first thing some one will see.

Ive got a idea for the face,,,,,,, take the Obj and print a shell.... Cover it in the skin. Or print it and pull it on my vac bed.

The latter means I can flex it a tad incase the print cant fit in the space for the face.
The helmet is also slated to be printed and then mounted to the bike one with some glue ...
The voids to be filled with foam.

Re: Wort! Blarg! Honk! 3D printing a Covi Elite.

The face is done being tweaked in meshmixer.
Feet are filled with foam,. adding shoes today!

Them eyes! ..... It makes him come alive!
as of now I have NO vision..... I need to fix this somehow. perhaps a few drilled holes .. No one said it has to be easy to wear.

Re: Wort! Blarg! Honk! 3D printing a Covi Elite.

Just a random tid-bit:
Half-Jaw's eyes are green! I don't know if you planned on changing the color, but I thought you should know!

They are green in Halo 2 classic, but Blur changed the color of his eyes to yellow in the Anniversary remake. Halo wiki has him described as having green eyes and it is odd because green eyes on Elites is rare.

Re: Wort! Blarg! Honk! 3D printing a Covi Elite.

Saber. I never really looked at the wiki that much. I used screen caps from H2A and halo5 ..

I have some sad news ..... Ill be canceling Rtas as a build.......

Blarg........

Re: Wort! Blarg! Honk! 3D printing a Covi Elite.

That sucks to hear dude. Was coming along great! Hope all is well though.

Re: Wort! Blarg! Honk! 3D printing a Covi Elite.

Some Great news.

Rtas has a a green light again .

I am not one to air my laundry but Ill put this out.
There were 2 factors to Rtas being scrubbed.

Rtas was meant to be made in time for NewCon in portland the weekend of the 16th Jan.

A Fellow member and I were chatting in a car and it was brought up that they would not go as they practicably ban all masks.
I forgot about this as when I worked for them last year I was in a costume that had no mask.

I do 2 cons a year full bore. Kumo and NC are half a year apart and therefor give me the break I enjoy on a regular basis.
However it cost about 600 a con to go. rooms ect. it all adds up.

So Why make a Really cool costume If I cant be in character enough to make it worth my time..

there there was time.
I gave my self 30 days to make him and I can still do it in that time frame!

Frys and there silly shipping issues ate my 5 day buffer I had on my time chart for parts. I learned from my MC4 build how long stuff takes and as I print more and more I am gettng better at guessing the time needed .

I gave Frys 2 weeks notice as I allwas do to get in loads of extra plastic for builds and stuff.
I like to be upfornt and not eat every spool they have so that there is spares for the other shoppers .
Ive been on a first name basis with the managers and a good handfull of the employees who work in the dept's that I shop at every day.
They tried there best to help. infact brick and mortar store wide I could see on there system they were O U T of all most every color in ABS 1.75 .

So that 5 day break was my buffer. All burned up at the start. My folks asked me to come home for Xmas for 4 days. I could but that Would then put the nail in the coffin.
So I asked them If I could bring my printer down and leave it in the garage to pop out parts every 4-10 hours .
they are fully aware of my blitz build and understood what I was doing. they said no.

I ended up just leaving the printer at my home. and then putting the breaks on Rtas.

Fast forward to this week.

Ive been chatting with some fellow members and I Ill go to ECCC in washinton ..

Rtas on monday will be back on the bed at full bore ! time to make me a shipmaster!

Peter..

Re: Wort! Blarg! Honk! 3D printing a Covi Elite.

It's good to hear you didn't have to scrap this project, cause I'm looking forward to the end results. How much time do you have before ECCC happens?
