I want to upgrade my PC so I can actually play games on it, at an affordable price.

Motherboard and processor
Video card

I can't find what RAM the board uses, can someone help me? I also want a decent case that will work with the board. I already have a HDD and power supply.

Would this work for games like BF2?

Bf2 runs pretty ok on mine and it only has half a gig of ram, so one or two would run it very smooth.

And compare tiger with new egg, sometimes you may get a better deal.

Cool. Do you know what kind of RAM I need for this motherboard?

RAM is the main thing, after updating from 256 to 1gb of ram on my PC, it allowed me to play alot more games, graphics cards are mportant too

The video card is fine, but don't expect to be able to play Crysis. The mobo is alright, but you might want a little more out of the processor, look for the nForce 680i by EVGA, it should come with a good processor. you're also going to need a CPU fan so it doesn't overheat. Also, for the RAM, it uses, this is the cheapest prices for the 800MHz DDR2 RAM it supports. ;)

Also, try Newegg or mwave, they usually have lower prices than TigerDirect.

Very helpful. Thank you.

How do I know what cases will work?

This case should work. It comes with a power supply, so the price is pretty decent (considering I've seen the case alone for that much on other sites). Thermaltake makes excellent parts, so you shouldn't have any trouble with it. It's one of the "Armor" series models, so it's supposed to be durable. Also, the deal ends June 30th, so if you want to get one part before others, the case would be a wise choice (if you decide to go with this one). I actually plan on getting this one when I build my next computer, and I plan on getting a nForce 780i and a NVIDIA 8800 GTS (I want to play Crysis!), so yeah, it should work out just fine. ;)

If you decide to get another one, though, get one that has the same dimensions as this one, and it should work fine.

EDIT: Whoops, wrong one! I thought that was the smaller version. This is another one I planned on using, and it's smaller than that other one :p

Newegg is good and even has user ratings that could help you out...

it also depends on what you define good.... if you're looking for a gaming PC then the standard would be much higher than the standard for an everyday computer...

Thanks Seno, you helped a lot.

So I need the second case?

I'm bumping the graphics card up to at least an 8600.
The second one will be fine. The first one is a full case, meaning it's very big (read the reviews, almost 50 lbs. alone!), so it isn't necessary.

Cool. Do you know the dimensions? I couldn't find them.

Specifications on Newegg said:
Dimensions 20" x 8" x 17" (D x W x H)

There ya are. Go to the page and click on "Specifications" near the top, for future reference. ;)

This is what I'm running, and it's down 10 bucks from what I paid for it, if it helps you any.
And. it'll run crysis. Even though the game was horrible, IMO. graphics-awesome. AI-suck.
That's what I'm planning on getting. Thanks for the new egg link. Tiger just sold out.
