Ok, basically I'm creating a Full Mjolnir Mark VI suit, campaign style. I was going to wait on the posting but I'm impatient. Hopefully I can update this thread about everyday, but I won't make promises that I (probably) can't keep. What I have so far is the complete right leg pepped excluding the heel. I have EVERY part printed, and the reast of the right boot plus the left calf is cut. I'm using red (valley) and blue (mountain) pens for embossing and folding and hot glue to keep everything together. The stage I'm at right now is merely pepping, meaning I have done no adjusting to the peices for extra support and rigidness, but I plan to. There is a tad bit of warping, but nothing I can't fix later on even though it's driving me CRAZY right now. I hope everything turns out like I want it to so I can mold everything, but I'm still a noob so we'll see. Lastly, there really isnt a point at which I NEED this done, I plan to wear it for Halo-ween '10 but that's still a long way away...

And on to the pics!

Right thigh

Test fitting - my leg is on the left. Yes, I'm scrawny but I'll slowly fill out. It may look like it's a bit big but that SAME piece on mt dad (right) looks like a much better fit. Don't forget I'm 15 and a guy... still growing so I hope to have a much better fit by October. (atm I'm 4 inches shorter than my dad)

Tell me what y'all think, I'm up for any criticism!

looks great so far, its good to be organized with the ziplocs, i know my wife would welcome that me to make that change, as currently our kitchen counter has fallen prey to my mark iv build that just started this morning. your pep work looks very clean, and dont worry about the scale thing, the thighs are one of the last parts anyone looks at. I dont think they look horrifyingly huge either anyways. keep up the good work and take your time! if you are planning on this being done by next october you set a good deadline, dont think that you have all the time in the world though, a year isnt that long when you are making HD pieces and care about the final outcome.

Update: Just a quick one for now everybody. Finished the cutting of the left calf, everything looks good. I'm starting on the left thigh right now. once that thigh, the left boot, and cod are cut out I will go back to folding and gluing. I expect to be done with the cutting by sometime tomorrow, but we'll see...

Kudos for thinking ahead man, I see too many people make their armor for the body type now and still have a few years growing to do. This hobby is awfully expensive to be growing out of it :). Nice clean sharp folds, gj.

Cheers,

Update: Another quick update today, got the left thigh fully cut out. While I did not reach my goal of cutting the reast of the lower torso out I am close so there's no disappointment. starting on the cod right now, if I get it finished I'll post a pic.

Update: It's been a few days since my last update, because of a retreat event that I was at and right after I got home I got sick. Which sucked. But I'm all better now! I've gotten more work done on the cutting, in fact I finished the cod and the left boot. But Im not posting pictures because I dont think any of yall like looking at pieces in plastic bags. I have also finished most of the gluing on the left calf. You'll notice I do it a little differently but I find it easier. Besides that I haven't gotten much else done. I will begin gluing the left thigh before finishing the calf and then glue the boot and cod before moving on to the upper body.

Overall I believe everything has been neat but I got carried away during some of the cutting and the pieces aren't perfect. Luckily its the lower body and not too noticable, however, it's still going to drive me crazy. Besides the obvious problem areas to me, (it sucks to be a perfectionist, but thats what bondo is for) I think everything looks like its alright. Not really any problems with the gluing over than slightly offset pieces, but they aren't that obvious. comments and criticism is welcome, tell me what yall think.

Update: Slow progress to show today, starting other WIPs and school geting in the way. Turns out I will NOT be updating this daily. Any-who, I got the rest of the thigh put together. Not fully but basically like the calf. I will put the Calf and Thigh completely together when the cod is done but I wont start the cod until the boots are complete, which are next. Comments, criticism welcome.

Looks great so far. My only concern is the size of the thigh pieces you've built, specifically the upper portion of the inner thigh. When you have both of them on will there be enough space left in between for you to stand comfortably without them rubbing?

yeah that seems like it could pose as a probem later in the future
