"Why are you starting another thread if you haven't deployed your ODST?"
Because I have squirrel brains and this is to get some ideas down for this suit. Plus I want to document making a full set of armor beginning to end since I think I'm one of very few Hazmat-Core Spartans.

So, I'm making a Hazmat-Core Spartan from Halo Infinite! I'm basing it off my current spartan:

405th Build 2.png

Helmet: CQB w/ Stalwart Visor
Chest / Core: Default
Shoulders: SAP/HVISTLA Plating (Rakshasa Default Shoulders)
Forearms: Default
Gloves: Model 78-C (Default)
Legs: Model 10 (Default)
Coating: Noble Loyalty

This suit is hopefully going to be more flexible than my current armor, so I should be able to act as a semi-handler at events. This suit is going to be 3D printed using multiple file sets, but I'll go into that in each section. I was considering foamsmithing, but I think that's a skill I'll pick up when I'm not busy with college.

Cool... more posts to come!

Planning, Prepping, and Scheming

So this post is the stepping off point for my notes that I've written down for this suit, as well as catch up for all work already done on this project in the background.

Plans

As I mentioned above, I am going to be 3D printing this entire suit. I'm planning on using Bambu Labs PETG HF through my Bambu P1S. I used PLA for the ODST suit and I've suffered for it, so I'm swapping over to PETG for its improved temperature resistance and flexibility. For files I am using a mix of different files. I am going to be using Moe Sizzlac's Hazmat Core Suit for pretty much everything. For the Helmet and Shoulders, I am going to be using Aguilar Workshop's CQB Helmet model and Rakshasa Armor Core - Arms set respectively.

For the undersuit, I am working with the talented and lovely elizabizzle22 to help me sew one up. I'll leave it to her to figure it out because sewing is witchcraft to me.

For the Visor, I am getting one made by the amazing Benton188 ! I'll show that off once I get it in.

Armorsmithy
Here's what I have so far. I just noticed that I am missing the shoulder pieces...

Anyways, I have scaled everything down to what I think will look good. Thank you MNKr for taking time and helping me double check this in a vc. It will hopefully look better than this with the undersuit on.

Currently Done
I have already fully printed out the CQB helmet. Originally this was going on my ODST but I think this is a better use for it. I'm rocking the Hardened Uplink Module or HUL on the Right ear, and I've made a specialty modification just for this helmet!

That's right, I've made Purr-fect audio for the CQB helmet. Made by smashing Aguilar's "External Port Piece" and the "Purrfect Audio" attachment from Galactic Armory's "ODST Helmet Accessories pack" I've made something that MNKr described as "hurts to look at." :)

I know some people aren't fans of them, so that's why they're replicable. They can be slotted in or out depending on what the suit needs. Did I make it overly complicated for no reason other than memes? Probably!

Anyways that pretty much wraps up everything I wanted to show off so far. There will be some time between posts as this is currently on the back burner as I finish up the ODST, and have a couple events coming up. There ain't no crunch like con crunch!

Thanks for reading,

An Update

Hey all, been a bit right? I am still working on this project, but with classes, events, and everything its been slow going. I thought I should at least get a new post done on here, just to make sure that the thread doesn't get locked.

So whats new with the suit? Well, not much. I haven't made much progress since I've been busy but the design plans have changed slightly:
Hazmat Front.jpg

I am keeping with the original design, but I have recently fallen in love with the Enigma Runner Armor Coating, and I'm going to be using it for this suit. Something about the Cyan / Orange / Silver just works for me. I'm also swapping out the Stalwart Visor with the Noble Visor Color to get that better Gold that I'm looking for.

My goals for this suit are twofold. Accuracy and Mobility.

Accuracy
I'm hoping to make this a Tier 3 Suit, so I'm getting all the reference images needed to make that Under Suit as game accurate as possible. Liz and I have already started drafting plans for it, and have an idea on what to use for the material.

In addition to the Under Suit, I'm planning on either purchasing boots with a slight lift, or I'm going to be building my own in order to get a boost of height. The shoes are still a bit of a mystery to me since Moe's Files seem to just be covers for a regular boot, but I'm going to guess for T3, I'll have to make my own.

Mobility
This suit is probably going to be one of the most mobile suits made. Hazmat's lack of armor plating will mean that it will weight next to nothing. I'm also planning on printing flexible parts of out out of that "Foaming TPU" that Drim has been using on his Achilles Mk7 Suit. Parts like the Knees and maybe the shin plates will be printed so that I can Kneel on the ground.

Most other pieces will be printed out of PETG-HF since I love when people walk up to you at conventions and are surprised that its a printed suit. Idk its a cool feeling. The first version of the chest will be printed out of PETG, instead of doing foam or TPU. While I would love to do foam, it is a skill I do not understand yet. I'll leave that to the future when I go about upgrades.

As for attaching & Strapping, the only piece I will really have to focus on is the chest piece. Everything else will be using button snaps built into the armor to attach to the Under Suit. This means that I'll hopefully be able to put everything on by myself, as well as take things off in order to move!

But yeah, thats pretty much it. Still working on the armor. Probably going to be working on it more over winter break in the discord VCs. I need to finally glue that helmet together so I can start painting it, and fit the visor that Benton made. (Keep an eye out for that post)

Happy Holidays!
