Foam Zack’s MK VII Cross Core

Soooo before I cut down the middle of this sexy piece, I’m deciding either using a variety of elastic straps and just slide into and out of it. It work a long time ago with one of my Skyrim builds, but also higher chance of damaging it too.

2nd idea is using Velcro, but I ripped foam before using it, but after multiple times of getting in and out of it, but it does work.

3rd idea is using a zipper, which is doable but would probably have to make the spine piece detachable so I can zip in and out of it, I personally never done a zipper and it would have to be a at least a 3 ft zipper, but I have seen it on YouTube, can’t remember the YouTuber, but it is an option.

Now my final idea and the one I think I will do is just make it magnetic which my entire mando suit is magnetic and it worked great, been through 4 cons and me goofing around at birthdays in, now I can make magnet on magnet action or magnet on some 1/8 mild steel strips, both I think would work great.

Anyway, the point of this post is feed back, any of you peeps done a Mk VII undersuit and how did you go about wearing it???

Helloooooo, completed the front half, well like 95%, it’s not completely accurate but only because my planned chest attachment will cover up the in accuracy, noooow should I upload every single pic I took for like week……nah that’ll take too long but here she be, also pic heavy-ish:



This was simple, it fits just with the right looseness you’d want. Might put some upholstery foam in the front and back, ya know just general comfort stuff, next post will be something

I will take the compliment, but it really isn’t anything to it, not like you 3d printing chefs, that just looks daunting and the sanding looks annoying

Well guess I’ll post the completed front half so far, it’s really hard to see since I’m dumb and chose black foam, oh well.


Realllll hard to see but does look sexy when I put it against my box mannequin holder thingy, I’ll do that on the next post, ya know, pad out my thread a bit

As promised I will use this post as my box holder mannequin thing( a PG Banshee box, yeah I have other hobbies)

This be the undersuit plus torso bit and front-ish half of the main chest.

Also I give you peeps consent to look at my chest.

I could have used an actual mannequin so here is an actual mannequin with my stripped down bucket.

Some part of me is thinking hmmmm a Mk VI Gen 3 armor might be pretty dope with that helmet, soooo someone might make a new thread for that.
Kinda want to attempt a foam bucket for my Mk VII but even I know foam buckets are a goddamn pain.

With your foam abilities I don’t think it’ll be an issue making a bucket. My foam chest was a struggle but is getting better however you’re chest and undersuit is a work of art. I think you got this. What undersuit files are you using?

I managed to find some off of Etsy, I’ll linked it for ya. Wish I could upload it to the armory but seller was very clear about not sharing, but for $10 it can be your files.

Thank you I am more than happy to support creators work so I do not mind! I have been battling with whether I make the undersuit from foam or TPU and if I find a neck seal then I think foam is the way to go at least for me. The TPU sounds like a real nightmare in my opinion.

Thermoplastic Polyurethane. It is a really flexible type of filament for 3d printers. But it is really finicky to get right
