Cast Armor

I've been lurking around this site for a while and thought it was time to post something of my own. I am trying something different though, so I'll just start with some pics.

So, long story short, we decided to try to cast a suit of aluminum halo armor. We are melting down cans in our backyard foundry to cast the pieces. We are new to both casting and armor making, so we will gladly take any advice. Also if there is interest, we can post the process in greater detail if anyone else wants to try casting. I look forward to what you guys have to say about this.

Hey great job on the armor, I love the idea! You've inspired me to try some metalworking on my own. You said that you could post the process in greater detail if anyone else wanted to try casting. I would definitely like that if you could post the process in detail. And what size is your crucible?
