Hyo's Female Reach Build - Finished

I've never thought about using Vasoline, I've used toothpaste which leaves behind a thin layer... and a nice minty smell lol

I thought about using toothpaste if the vaseline didn't work. Does the exact same I'm assuming. I just find vaseline easier to clean off than toothpaste (I imagine it leaves a film?).

scoring with the pad does a neat effect to the paint job though as it is abrasive in an fairly irregular way.

however, one thing i'm slightly disagreeing on is the UA/Multi-threat shoulder

i think it's more the shape seems generally more correct compared to the other one

Thanks for the input, but the shoulder guard is already made and bondoed, and like 90% done... I don't have time to remake another one.


I'm alive I swear!! I've just been busy with running an out of town convention. But I'm back and driving harder to get this finished! (original one is the grey one)



So I'm lazy, and I didn't want to make two handplates by hand... So I made one, then made a mold of that one, and pulled a cast today and it's perfect!

I think I'll be selling just a few of these casts here and there (as pairs, obviously), but decently cheap. Though obviously they'll most likely be for female spartans or spartans of a smaller build. They are exactly 3" wide and 2.1" tall. They'll be available in the classified section later.

And just a preview on the thigh, kind of. In the works on attaching the vinyl on the inner thigh. It hasn't been 'glued' in yet. But just showing it off so you get the idea

And the back of the inner thigh. The vinyl went higher than I meant, but oh well, still looks good.

Hopefully within the next day or two, I'll have from the waist down, COMPLETELY done, strapping, padding, everything. Hopefully.... We'll see how much my hand hurts then.... [pro fail right here, ghetto bandaid ftw]
I dremeled my hand by accident, then later that night I got nailed in the hand with the ball in field hockey. Same hand, same spot. fmc (f*** my couch... I say that a lot)

Yeah my colours is primary white, secondary red. I was debating light green as secondary for the longest time cause I really liked the combo with that too... But I picked the dark red as red is my fav colour, yet I didn't want a FULL red suit (I like white for the whole outfit better).

If you're been keeping up-to-date with my build, you'll be just as excited to see what I have done as I am to wear it (so far). lol

Also just a little side pic; moved 'shop', or at least for THIS project, to the garage. I moved from my work room in my house, to my deck, to the garage. Firstly because of the fumes, then because of the dust, then cause of the moody weather. The garage let's me work without needing to worry about fumes as much, dust no biggy, and if it's windy, haha mother nature! I can still work so eff you!! lol

Making my bf work on his suit a bit too, trying to take off a bit of the stress off me for needing to making two suits:

And I've been making some progress on his helmet, should be able to finish 95% of it tomorrow. Picked up a blue visor the other day, and put it in just to see what it'll look like. Looking pretty sharp!! So at the VERY LEAST he'll have a helmet for PAX.
